| I'm a Cas fan, and in my opinion I do not think we will ever see the stadium being built, at least in the next 5 years, and the conclusion being we will not get a license next time around, I do honestly think that.

| Quote youngcat="youngcat"I see it as good news for Cas, Tesco have looked around for the best option and have decided to pick WR There objection on the WMDC website to the Edinburgh House scheme supports this. If they had not chosen WR why would they spend their time and money fighting another possible supermarket site?
We have bigger worries in getting 240 acres of green belt land transferred in to brown belt. I think we would be better spending our time in supporting that.'"
Of course we have our own worries, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss other happenings.
You miss the point about the WR situation. Tesco haven't decided on WR, they have decided on building in Cas. They object to the rival Aire St build because of this.
Tesco's current opinion is that a "different" site in Cas is most deliverable, not WR. If Aire St gets the go ahead, neither the "other site", nor WR will happen. They won't give permission for 2 retail outlets at this time.
First past the post wins!

I'm working with a planning consultant who has been involved with the WR project since the initial deal with Ben Bailey Homes was in the offing; his opinion is that whilst ever there are other potential sites in Cas, a supermarket will always pick them over WR, due to the issue of flood levels.

You are right. That is one of the reasons that Opus has been directed to focus on alternative sites.
The other major issue is that Tesco's consultants are fearful of a PI further delaying progress.
I join other Wakey fans in hoping that, for the good of RL, Cas are successful in their hopes for a new build (hopefully not long after ours!) - that doesn't mean we should bury our heads and pretend all is well, a la Richard Wright.

I'm with you on that and, despite the few divots who represent Cas on here, I bear them no ill-will.
My view remains that there will be one Community Stadium built in the WMD in the coming 18-24 months, and it will be at J30 of the M62, equi-distant between Wakefield and Castleford.

There is nowhere else in castleford though, only WR and Aire Street. If they are objecting to Aire Street it must be WR.

I dont think so, we are too far down the line as our near neighbours.. We backed out of a feasability study once so i dont think we will go down that route. You may be right that one stadium is the answer, but it will have to be at NM or GH. That will never be agreed.

Sorry but you are wrong. There are two other sites that I know of that are interested in being sold and for supermarket development.

Couldn't be more wrong.
I know for a fact the press release was planned before all of your conspiracy theories took place.
