| Well the Labour Party in Wakefield didn't seem too bothered about our plight with regard to Newmarket and all the great sporting facilities it would have provided for the young people of our area when I contacted M creagh J tricked and p box I got a lack lustre response and it went on for years and years so perhaps it might focus a few minds in future now they carnt be guaranteed our vote.

Wasn't it the tory MP for Morley & Outwood Andrea Jenkins, who he was referring to.

| City of Hull keeps the red wall intact with all 3 seats although Hull East just squeaked in after a 19% loss of the primary vote(17% voted Brexit Party).
Hull East is the only Hull seat which has never deserted Labour since 1935 and I lived in that constituency for almost 20 years but never voted there.Left in 1959 after becoming eligible so just missed that GE.
Dad was a shop steward in the ETU and campaigned heavily for Labour in the landslide GE win in 1945. He wrote a little ditty for that campaign which was played in most working men's clubs in east Hull. His brother was a Labour member of the Hull City Council and ended up coming out here to Aus. with his family in the mid 50's.

| Like it or not the tory party have an unbelievable opportunity to bring the country together while showing support to the northern areas not normally associated with the tory vote. It will require a total shift in policies and alot more arm twisting within the party.
I just can not see the Tories taking the time and effort in general but if they do and deliver they could be in power for some considerable time.
5 years to show the voters they can change and deliver., or 5 years to people of and blow it. I know were my moneys going.

You forgot to mention Scotland’s SNP leader raking in over 5 million pounds from the sale of a broadband company he had shares. Friday was the day when all things financial went sky high. Those in the establishment know how to play the money game, whatever politics they spout.

Why would they bother doing that given they've spent the last 9 years slashing and burning everything the working classes rely on yet still got voted back in, to a large extent by them?! Surely logic would suggest they'd carry on doing more of the same to the masochistic Northern electorate? |
