| It would not surprise me if Gale had signed, the one thing that would surprise me though is Mr Carter paying him the sort of wages talked about on here.

Spot on.
Clearly Luppy's mate from the chip shop is not running on all four cylinders and neither are some posters on here if they believe that guff.
Since when has a player whose best years are gone commanded the same money he did three or four years ago. Added to that, since when did Trinity under MC ever pay over the odd for any player. True we signed a duffer in Lineham but he was never on the monies quoted on here and we paid the going rate, nothing more.
Why on earth would we pay Gale far more than Miller when the club made it very clear they were desperate to keep Miller. By the logic of this forum Cas must be paying Miller the best part of 500k. However as we know the logic only works one way on here.

With 34+ k posts some may say I join in far too often, but thanks for the laboured jibe
Back to the point. So in the last 48 hours, this forum has gone from...
Gale signing, too Gale signing for 250k a season, even though he's knocking on and wasn't even on that amount at Hull, or possibly anywhere else. Apparently the same money that the iconic Fifita was on but who the club let go because 1: they couldn't afford him and 2: He was considered too old and 3: Something Dave agreed with as he's retired. This offer has come from us, a club for whom 250k makes up nearly 1/5th of our player spend, seriously!
Then a random comment that Albert Kelly is OOC and now he's in the frame. Now I suppose this one is possible but it's a million miles from likely at this point.
And then it gets silly. Apparently we were offered Cherry Evans as a junior but being the idiots we are we turned him down. Yep, this was the hottest young HB in the NRL at the time and we were offered him, he wanted to come and we turned the poor waif away. Seriously you couldn't make it up yet someone did, as they have with Gales wage demands.
None of this is debating, this is just people making stuff up to further discredit the club and tbh that doesn't relax me, shouldn't relax you either if you're a fan with any common sense. Either that or your Jon Wilkins and I'll take my £5 thanks

I really hope so and I hope he has impressed them enough to take over the bulk of his wages, that would be great for all concerned.

Yes but we all know that rules are there to be bent if you're Wigan signing a player.
Look at the recent post about Quentin Pongia and the fact that we couldn't get him a visa and then lo and behold a week later he had signed for Wigan and a visa was no issue.

My god you are so full of yourself and cannot accept that being the fountain of all knowledge you don’t actually know everything, you have an opinion on everything and recently gone into overdrive with posts defending the club. We were offered Cherry Evans long before your new mentor came onto the scene. He was only an inexperienced unknown junior so obviously it would be just a gamble.
I regret that it is not made up but was just an interesting fact but up steps the oracle the club’s knight in shining armour to defend their virtue, even when it is not called into question. It is just your fallback position defend don’t think just defend after all you are now almost part of the family, a distant part but useful when required.

Total lie. Cherry Evans was never an unknown, get real.
"Cherry-Evans played 46 games for the National Youth Competition team of Manly Warringah Sea Eagles over the 2008 (aged 1icon_cool.gif and 2009 season where he scored 246 points in total including 24 tries. He was named on the interchange bench of the 2009 Toyota Cup season's team of the year."
Yeah, a real unknown
He started with Manly reserves from the age 19 and has been with them ever since and by 21 was a full blown international. Yet you persist with the idea that this player who's potential was well known to Manly and other NRL clubs was offered to an ailing SL team.
As it happens I was far better connected with the club in 2009 than I am now and that one never came up, funny that. In fairness lots of players were mentioned in those days and some I forget, but a player called Cherry, nobody forgets that.

Truth is we only have Lino and Gaskell so we do need another HB. However as is always the case in RL, if you have a big strong aggressive pack that is on the front foot, most HB's will look decent.
If I were looking for a good value player with real potential and a fair bit of experience I'd look no further than Jordan Lilley at Bradford.
Not a world beater but a good foil for Lino and not lacking in quality. One things for sure, Mash will know him as a player and that matters imho rather than reputation.

| I think one of the other creative/attacking areas we really miss out on is at hooker
Really like hood but his main strength is defence, which is ferocious, the guys a real asset to us
I know this is fantasy rl as it were but some one like a Brad drew at hooker to go with Lino and a game controlling half in the Tim smith mould (but with a kicking game) is what I’d like to see
Be nice to get shaul tied up too
Thought he was a terrific edition to the team
It goes without saying we need to replace Dave and Arona too
