| Quote 4foxsake="4foxsake"On the 12/01/2017 Peter Box held 40 shares in Castleford Rugby League Football Club Limited (The), that is confirmed by their return to Companies House.'"
So, he could profit from a s.106 agreement gifting a £10m stadium to said private company???? What's the share prices doing these days?

I looked at it yesterday - I think it was dated 2014 and stated that he held 40 shares In Castleford tigers

| So Cllr Box owns (owned?(transferred to wife?)) Shares in a private company
The council which he runs is having a community stadium built as part of a S106 agreement
The council which he runs is going to sell this brand new community stadium to the private company which the councillor has shares in for the grand sum of £1
The councillor now owns shares in a private company which has a stadium worth £10m

| Not easy to read, and only a small section......
......edited
Although I don't think you did anything wrong, as mentioned later in the thread it's probably not fair to write those names on the site. The link is enough. .....Poptart

| Once got the full list myself sometime back and I seem to remember the total share issue was about 2000 or a figure around that.
Even if it was say 10000 then this financial gain would put
£1000 value to each share.

| I also checked this yesterday and can 100% confirm that it stated Peter Box owned 40 Shares in Castleford Tigers RLFC
It also stated that he received 2 ordinary match tickets per year to the Castleford Tigers Vs Wakefield Trinity Super League match. It would be interesting to see which terrace he stands on, not that I believe for one second that he doesn't get the full prematch meal hospitality VIP treatment rather than ordinary tickets.

In all fairness to Box, can't blame him for standing on the terrace because safety wise that wooden stand looks a bit dodgy to me. I have often wondered how its still there when we had to pull ours down years ago. Then again I am no expert but Box probably knows a bit more about it than me.

According to the info Tommy Duckfingers provided Box owns 40 shares which is 0.05% of the total shares. Therefore the total amount of shares is 80,000.
Working out how much the value of each share will increase by is a bit more difficult as I believe they have to sell their current ground which they may have to do at less than what it's NBV is and it's impossible to compare the current running costs to the future stadium running costs. However with their new ability to generate income year round thanks to corporate and hospitality services I'd be willing to bet that the value of Castleford Tigers will increase by a fair bit more than £10,000,000.

AFAIK there is no link to their current stadium. They can keep it as a training venue or dispose of it as they wish. If they know someone on the council maybe they can get some nice attractive planning permission put on it.

Not a bad deal for Cas then. £10,000,000 facility for a quid, most likely lower running costs, increase in income generation and the freeing up of an asset that will only increase in value. Amazing what can happen when developer, council and club come together.

It would only mention shares if the question was asked on the document.

| If Box is going to be at the match on Good Friday then maybe that is a good time to get vocal? A few "Where's Our Stadium?" banners and maybe some chants to make our feelings known?
Thoughts anyone?
