| Quote: Fishermanscap "Firstly there is no racial stereotyping don't be so ridiculous. You clearly know nothing about French RL, the vast majority of who's stadia would not beat most conference clubs. It is obvious to most people that I'm referring to the sport of RL in particular and not the whole spectrum of French sport
You must live in permanent outrage over something. I think you need to pass the keyboard back to the other guy.
But if I take your points one at a time
It may be mild but saying French players are ok with poor clubs like ours because they are used to poor facilities is racial stereotyping. You give no reference to anything about the players apart from them being French and group them together to draw a conclusion. That is racial stereotyping. No one is offended by it. It was mild. You are not banned. But it is what it is.
French stadiums. I gave you three examples of clubs that have good facilities. As there is only one to compare with Super League I'd say the others are a good comparison. I don't profess to know French rugby league well, but I have been and I have seen them.
In reference to the fact you were commenting on only rugby league grounds to show how they would accept our poor facilities, I was simply trying to widen your view to show that someones acceptance of the facilities and being comfortable does not just confine itself to the pitch and changing rooms. We have to train away from our pitch. Not bad gym, but not ours. Some of the lower league rugby clubs in France are connected with sporting clubs with nice facilities. That will have an impact to how they feel about being in Wakefield, as will the town they come from, the way they were brought up etc etc etc.
As I said, its more likely they feel comfortable, if in fact they do as it is only anecdotal evidence that they do, because of locality.

| Pop tart you are attempting to bring a racial issue into a discussion where there was none. I lived in SW France for 10 years by the way and the majority of stadiums in the ‘elite’ are way below Superleague standard.

No attempt. Just stating my opinion.
I don't argue with what you say there. But elite 1 is clearly a lower league just like championship.
But to say French players are ok with poor facilities in UK because they are only used to poor facilities in France is not true.
If you lived there you'll know that.

I didn't mean I was casting doubt on whether you lived there. Apologies if that's how it came across.
I should have said "as you lived there"

I've been near there actually.
Stopped in at Limoges. Lovely part of the world
Its probably time to get back to Gigot. He may well be a good addition for us. We benefited from Escare's off the cuff make something from nothing style last season and Gigot has something similar. Can be hard to manage if you like a strict game plan but when things are a bit chaotic when we return, I reckon he'll do well

| If he can keep his temper under control then fine, I'd have no problem with the signing however with no relegation in place surely we could play others and save the money?
Walker, Jowitt, Rocky, Miller, Josh & Kyle Wood, Bailey all versatile to cover the halves.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rugby return but hopefully the remainder of the season will be injury free almost like a preseason for next year.

| Why when we are supposed to have no money are we bringing players in, there is no relegation so why not give bailey, Croft and kershaw a chance.

TBF Mopsey you have a vested interest in that spot, I get it. But let’s be fair when these decisions were made nobody knew for certain TWP would implode. When players like Kay and Gigot come onto the market at what I suspect are good terms you have to look.
I hope Ryan gets his run at HB if that helps but I honestly don’t think Bailey is ready for anything other than the odd game from the bench.
Also both Kay and especially Gigot offer a lot of versatility. Gigot looks decent in the halves and the backs, a precious commodity for us.
Now assuming there is no relegation then perhaps you have more of a point but until that is all fully decided we have to prepare.

I don’t select the team vasty and it’s up to every player to play well and keep their place but I honestly think now with this virus and what’s happened to Toronto is the time to start producing some good homegrown players. We and I’m not just talking Wakefield the game in general waste more money on overseas players and old players who have been great in their time but should not be playing super league anymore. Ellis, Sean ol and brough to name 3. Like I say there’s no relegation so give them a chance.
