I can't remember the name of the place I stayed at, except that it was where the refs used to stay and was 150 euros a night (it was the only place I could find). It was nice, but overpriced. I stayed at The New Kristina last year, which is dated but okay, but the first two years I stayed at The Ibis, which was probably the best value for money and handy for everything.

Was it the Kyriad ?

The Citea is a new apart/hotel and I think some of the problems were due to teathing problems experienced by some when it was just finished. You can only speak as you find and I thought it was fine as did everyone who I know stayed there. I spoke with David Foti also and told him that I found the Citea okay.

I have also stayed at the Park Hotel which is a Best Western and a 3* but again I found it a bit dated.

As you will recall I also have stayed at the Mas des Arcades which is very good and has a pool. Would not hesitate to stay there if it was nearer the centre but its too far to walk particularly after the odd pint and taxi's aren't cheap after midnight.

Thinking of staying in Canet next June. Anyone any recommendations for there ? What's the Malibu Village like ?

Yes, that's it. Paid 10 euros for the breakfast on the Sunday, and I realised that there are only so many rolls and jam you can eat to try and get your money's worth.

Still toying with the idea. Got caught out the first year we were over like feline. Booked flights to and stayed in Carcassone when it was confirmed as being there then they moved it to Perpignan. They bused us to the game at no cost because they had confirmed the game as being in Carcassone (as they did with Narbonne) but it was a bit of an hassle.

Just wish someone would confirm it.

If you stay in Perpignan I'm sure that Foti (CST) will be arranging transport to Montpellier but fancy staying in Montpellier if it were to be confirmed as there although Foti says it isn't.

The problem is that the longer you leave it generally the air fares go up.

I reckon the flight prices to Perpignan will be at their highest now, with the fixtures just coming out, as a lot of people will be booking now. The flight to Perpignan this year on the Friday from Manchester wasn't that full, and I reckon it might have been cheaper nearer the time. I booked mine when the flights and fixtures were announced, and I don't think it was as expensive again.

£120 Manchester to Perpignan return sounds reasonable.

When deciding on super league franchises, the RFL/SLE may consider adding to there rediculous lopsided equation, -1 point for not being able to announce fully your fixture list at the start of the season, for the benefit of travelling supporters!!
Teams are punished for not providing a high enough standard of stadia/facilities for fans, what about shifting a game 100 miles, and all the costs incurred? Call me old fashioned I'd rather get wet than hike to another ground to watch the game!!!

Quote: TURFEDOUT "looking at flying to Perpignan on the 17th and reurn on 21st.

Can anyone recommend hotels in Perp. or close by.

Never been over before,so all info appreciated.'"

A lot of people on here myself included stay at the Hotel Aragon in perpignan except for last season when it was fully booked with a music festival in the city. Its cheap pricewise clean and comfortable the manager's name is Alain and for an englishman has got the best French accent ever icon_lol.gif nothing is too much trouble for the man and I am positive that plenty of people on here will recomend it. The tel. no. is (33) (0)4 68 54 04 40 otherwise as Sandal Cat says the Citea is also vg and is comparable pricewise unless with this being its 1st full season open the price has gone up hth.

Has anyone stayed at the Malibu Beach Resort in Canet. Thinking of giving it a try rather than staying in Perpignan as usual.

Of course that's if its not played in Montpellier - I wish they would confirm the venue.

It's been officially announced the Catalans game is to be played in Bridgend to help expand and promote the game in South Wales.
