same here I reckon this is the way forward after the suspension. I would pay that here in oz
at present over here the NRL are playing round 2 still behind closed doors (basically only sport in the world still playing )" because they have said if they suspend it the game and the clubs will go Broke in 3 months - they have literally come out and said this - these could change any hour if somebody in the game contracts the virus though .
if the nrl clubs are going to go broke it spells disaster for the lower clubs in super league surely ????

| My only gripe with sky live games is i already pay for sky so why should i pay again and for season ticket thats paying three times for the same thing moneybags sky could easy afford 100 grand per home team as theyre not forking out for football or any other live sport unless badminton is expensive

That might be the answer: play behind closed doors for 100K a game. Show every game. Sky need to show something!!
Except squads will keep on going into temporary isolation, causing mayhem.
The answer might be a three month suspension, scrap the Challenge Cup and Ashes, and play until the end of November. Start next year a little later, to allow a pre-season and recovery, and slowly bring it earlier each year, so after, say 5 years, we are back to the beginning of February.

| My mate has been in Barcelona for well over a month, was planning on flying across to Paris for a bit but thats obviously a no goer.
He flew into Leeds yesterday, straight through customs no checks, no questions or anything. Crazy.

It is highly unlikely sky will pay anymore, it is more of a worry that they turn round and say as per current contract, no content, no pay. Their sports revenues will be down remember as people not under contract cancel subscriptions for the duration pretty much all sport is under lockdown. Adam Pearson said in an interview yesterday that financially playing behind closed doors just isn’t an option and the latest thoughts are that this could last until July at the earliest. I shudder to think what will be left of the game at that point.

| I've just watched a recording of a program from last night about the 1918 flu epidemic which was on BBC 2 in which it went on to show how a double pandemic took out up to 50 million people, shuddering to think that we end up in a similar position

Certainly possible.
Nobody will be wanting to pay for Sky sports and have nothing of note to watch.
They too will be under pressure, although you would expect their news channels to be making a fortune with advertising revenues, at least in the short term.
Lasting till July seems extremely optimistic

| Quote: snowie "icon_lol.gif I love watching history programs and I noticed it last night, it was worth watching to see how it came about, they called it the Spanish flu but it originated in Kentucky USA.
It all started towards the end of world war 1 and it reinvented its self to become more deadly, at the end of the war there was great celebrations and the simple cuddling and frivolity afterwards sent it into melt down
The flu was passed on from one person to one other on average. This Corona stuff to date passes to 2 to 3 people that's a rapid infection rate!

| Difference was that spanish flu was more virulent than covid19 and on a population just finishing world war 1 that was half starving with little hygiene and healthcare

I don't have a clue who anyone is on here BUT I do know that we have some older boys posting. If anyone fits this category and may find it difficult to get out to the shops then please don't struggle. Send me a PM with what it is you need and I'll be more than happy to go and get it for you.
And for anyone who may ask, Yes I will be wearing a face mask, gloves and have about 10L of hand sanitiser with me.
