| Quote: The Avenger "That's exactly what I was alluding to in my post earlier about the stadium cost being £19 million.
I know that YCP weren't stumping anywhere near that amount up but I'd be hugely disappointed if they got away with just £5million, quite frankly I'd settle for no less than double that amount'"
Sorry if i gave the impression that it was only £5 million. Its been going on a long time now and without trawling all the way back i think at some time i remember £9 million being mentioned but can't be sure. What i am fairly sure of is that a while ago some one asked TRB why the money couldn't be spent on re developing belle vue instead of a new build at newmarket. I may not have got the words of the question exactly right and the same goes for the answer but i think TRB said something along the lines of "no, you can't have the pain in one place and the gain in another." it would be nice if he could come on and clarify this. Once again apologies for my ill thought username, i really hope the re development comes to fruition and we have many more great derby games in good surroundings.

A covered western terrace and a new east stand I'd be happy with that it would create some right atmosphere and still have character that these out of town new stadia lack + we never knew what the final designs for NM would have been anyway.

I'd prefer BV myself but is it likely to happen? Imagine the objections and just how long it would take now after wasting yet more years on NM. I just can't see it. We are dying a death from where I'm sat and the glass contains nowt!

Sorry but I think the Minimum we should be looking at is 3 sides developed. A proper North stand is a must, we MUST NOT settle for being fobbed off (again)

The original west stand was high probably the highest stand at belle Vue it didn't go the full length of the pitch but can't see planning being an issue.

I don't think the club or the community trust will be settling for anything less than what we can actually get but getting the most for the funding we have.

I Guess until some actual facts emerge we're all just speculating. I would be nice to get some official word on all of this.

| Quote: PHe "and also buy back the Superbowl building and land, much bigger 'footprint'.
Buy back with Yorkcourt paying for all the land including BV. Car parking on the old power station site, to be used as a park and ride mid week with our 'training facilities next to (not on the car park, but you never know).??????
A few weeks ago MC in a post referred to something akin to ' What would you do with £5 m to redevelop BV and Snowie said he would undercut him! I thought at the time what a strange comment.'" 10 out of 10 for that and it was a comment that I will stand by,
its more than just general steel work which I have done in past on a smaller scale but it wouldn't faze me to pack in my job right now and be employed to set up company which put its heart and sole into delivering a stadium for Trinity, most companies would be looking for its own profits which are large at this scale, just think what if we got a team willing to work and delivery what was required, 5 million I said I could roll it in glitter with that I'd roll it in gold dust

Your memory is pretty good.
It is true within the 106 agreement, but there are mechanisms available which would allow the transfer of funds.
The plan, should it go this way, would not mean abandoning NM, but rather having a training facility / community facilities at that site - so there would be a gain directly at NM.

| Buy the ground, and the buildings on it (Super Bowl) do A season playing at another ground, turn the pitch 90degs (so the current north stand is on the carpark side). Sell the current flats and it really would be a case or starting anew. Could be great.

| Wheres Vasty with his artists impression? That would do for me.
I don't for one minute think we will get what many people on here are asking or hoping for. To buy the ground and just tart it up, i would think you're not getting much change out of 5 mil? Although i appreciate that values have probably decreased, didnt someone once mention the BOI wanted somewhere in the region of 4 mil to buy it back or have i made that up???
As much as i love Belle Vue for the years of torture it has given me, its old, knackered, and absolutely appalling to gain access too. Wasnt so bad in the 60's as a majority would walk or go on the bus, nowadays with access required for what, an additional 1,500 cars? the area more so than the ground is just not fit for purpose

| I may be one of the few pwople who is happy with this. I would much rather we stayed at a redeveloped Belle Vue then move to a soulless new stadium.
Obviously I would have to see the plans before being totally convinced but if we can improve Belle Vue to a good enough standard then that is fine by me.

Can't remember how to upload it (mac) any advice welcome.
I've always believed NM was the best option.
However as my lovely artists impression proved I have also firmly believed BV could be upgraded to be reasonable standard. Not state of the art but fit for purpose with real atmosphere and heritage.
It's clearly the second rate option let's not kid ourselves but with imagination, planning and commitment it would work IMHO.
Funny thing is much as I agreed with NM it never fired my imagination and was one reason why I've dipped out of SWAG in recent years. Nothing sinister just not my bag. However the idea of raising money and helping out with a proper plan fills me full of enthusiasm again.
I'm already offering to re-start the Fanzine to back the project, peanuts though it may be overall - every little helps.
Think the value of the land BV is on is actually quite low at the moment especially with the covenants on it. I have no idea what if anything is on offer at present though I assume it has to be something.
I'd suggest by back BV say 1.25 M
Buy Superbowl site for similar.
4-5 million for a new modest main stand, which will provide valuable revenue.
Use any left plus whatever the club can manage to continue a phased upgrade of the stadium over 5 years.
I think 10 million from Yorkcourt would be fair as its money they will easily get back and then some from the spare capacity it will provide at NM minus the 20 million for a new stadium.

Some of us have been campaigning for a new stadium for quite a long time and have given up their time in an effort to make it happen.
I have not put as much time in as some like TRB and IA but I have spent many hours of my time on the project and gave evidence at the Public Inquiry and to be honest I'm totally peed off with the decision to remain at Belle Vue when we believed and were told that Newmarket would happen.
I'm sure more will come out in the next few weeks but we are where we are and we now have to see how Belle Vue is going to be redeveloped but don't lose sight of the fact that if it had not been for all the time and effort put in by the likes of TRB and IA we would not even be talking about redeveloping Belle Vue, we would have absolutely nothing.
I know many of us are brassed off and disappointed with this news, and I know no one has yet, but FFS don't turn on or blame the guys who have given their all to bring about a new stadium at Newmarket, they are as hacked off as some of you.'"
I'd like to re-emphasise this.
