Most people wait till the last minute to pay anything. Season ticket offers are no different.
Plus, at this time of year, anyone with a young family who regularly attends will probably have one eye on the credit card bill for the summer holiday, the bills for school clothes/materials etc. I'd imagine a lot of people will be waiting to see how much they have left at the end of the month before they shell out. It may be a great offer, and there may be some rich men and women in rugby league, but rugby league isn't a rich man's sport.

As for Agar - why would people be put off by that alone? They're more likely to have been put off by a lot of the performances this year and the state the club was in before AG took over. We've made some decent signings in the meantime. Enough decent players to make 8 quid a game an attractive proposition.

A point that was stressed to James Elston by the Suporters Trust which led to them allowing people to spread the cost over 2 months.

The big thing that needs to happen IMO though is to advertise the offer as widely as possible and that is not currently being done as far as I can see.

We have boards around the City advertising a game that was played 10 days ago, why aren't we using them???

Huddersfield managed to get a full page advert on the back of the League Express, why haven't we used that option???

might be a bit late but perhaps the players could have been utilised more to help with sales , say around Cineworld /Nandos area, outside Costa, going round the amateur clubs, anywhere where crowds gather. People are lazy they are more likely to buy if the offer is shoved in their face than if they have to go to shop / buy online. Plus floating fans are more likely to take notice of the offer if a player or Wildcat Doll is selling it to them. Two still to be bought in this house

The people who need to know about this are not the hardcore, who will buy a ST come what may.

The offer needs to be publicised to a much wider audience, with details of what it actually means i.e an illustration of the price per game, how many games you'd need to attend to make a saving (for shift workers and fair weather fans) and the other benefits that come with buying a ST - CC tickets, vouchers for shirts etc etc.

It also wouldn't do any harm to let people know that the £250k the offer raises would be used for players, that there is a lottery to join and that the club now has a Supporters Trust to give them a voice.

I've just looked again at the leaflet - it's rather naively done and seems to assume that the reader knows what a Season Ticket actually confers.

ALL season tickets count towards the number.

as far as I was aware even the silver and bronze membership are included as they have a saving through the season at less cost.

I wonder if we don't reach the target will they too have to pay more eusa_think.gif

It's poor show if we can't get 2500, I mean we average 6700, say an average of 1000 of them are away support, surely 2500 of the remaining 5700 would be worthwhile taking up the offer. Bradford sailing towards and over I believe the 10'000 pledge mark.

Quote: Uptoncat "If people don't buy a ticket because they don't like a coach or a player thats signed then I find that pathetic. Players and coaches come and go, we support the club, thats what we all have in common on here, by not backing this offer (if you can afford to that is but don't) then you are not backing the club that you supposedly love and support.'"

Agar looks to be the thin end of the wedge now though. Lined up next are Cockayne and Chester!
