An unspectacular player, but always seemed ready to put in a good, tough shift; I never saw him shirk, even during thrashings. One import who can certainly look himself in the eye and not wonder if he was nicking a wage.

It would have been nice to thank him and those that have already left but for some reason this was not an option available to the supporters. I wonder if anyone knows what his plans are and did he jump or was he pushed.

Matt Ryan has gone because the club were not going to offer him a new deal for next year, so he's been released early. One of the few whole hearted players in the squad, not offered a new deal, seems strange to me.....

How's he gone this year? From the bits that I saw last year of him he looked one of your best forwards so I was surprised to see him be released the other day. Even more surprised to see him end up at Bradford, didn't see that one coming at all.

You are not going to like it but this is yet another money saving idea but this one could come back to bite us. I know what you are going to say that we needed to free up an overseas spot but we could have waited to get the results from Locke's injury. If he is not available for the rest of the season I am sure we could de register him leaving a space to sign Topou.
No as per usual we take the cheapest option by releasing a contracted player and not even being bothered if he is going to sign for one of our rivals. I hope this money saving does not lead to our demise because that will cost a lot more in the long run.

I like Matt Ryan as much as anybody but lets not go over the top with this. I think he's had one standout game for us this year against Hull where he looked like he did last season but for the most part he's been as ordinary as the rest of them.
As for coming back to bite us I honestly don't think he's going to be the difference between us staying up or going down.

How many times have players upped their games against their previous clubs, just look at Miller against Hull. I presume we have pre arranged game plan even if the players don't know it and because he trained a played for us under the Smith era they will now.
I expected the usual defence of he's was not really that good but it is not what he can do but what he knows. I know we have made a string of dumb decisions both on and off the field but this could have the greatest impact. Why let him go to a team we know we are competition against and yes I still think it was to save money..
