We did have support from them initially, but a change of control in Leeds has lead to influence from councillors in the surrounding areas.

We still don't think it's a show-stopper, but it is slightly concerning.

ALL of the arguments raised against the scheme can be / have been dealt with, bar the NIMBY one for which there will always be. Even if we built it on the face of the moon, someone would be upset that it ruined their view and the wonderful ecological value of it - so, if we accept that there will ALWAYS be someone against any development, then do the arguments against this scheme add up to much more than they would for any other?

Remember - we have over 15,000 people who have signed to support the need for this scheme - that's a compelling argument!

Apparently that area of the moon is not actually White belt, it is a former soup mine but was closed 300 million years ago by an evil inter galactic dictator called The Maggie who came from the Tory nebula.

There's been billions of former soup dragons out of work ever since with whole soup planets now falling destitute.

Attempts to reabilitate that area of the moon have been hampered by local space pirate factions who claim to have annexed the Moon and that it now belongs to them. The Pirates have pointed to the natural beauty of the craters and the musical trees that grow within them as one reason why the development should be halted.

Some 15,000,000 clangers from nearby asteroids have formed a resistance group and are planning a definitive strike that should bring the dispute to a close.

A quick question for you. On the VT under the topic of pick your teams for SL 2012 there are posts from CAS Fans stating that they have heard that we will be sharing with them at Glashoughton as WMDC are nailing their colours to the mast and saying they will only support one stadium in the area.

They also state that a meeting to thrash this out is supposed to be taking place shortly if it hasn't already occurred.

I appreciate that there are a number of reasons why this doesn't sound right, ie ours will be run by the Community Trust, but along with Leeds Councils objection it is worrying and I just wondered whether you are able to give any comfort that the above is without foundation?

There is a meeting arranged in the near future, but I'm not going to say more than that right now.

Sharing a stadium in Castleford in the long term will result in the end of Wakefield Trinity. And for a city the size of Wakefield to have 0 professional sports teams would be an absolute disgrace.

That said if it was a short term move then i'm sure most could cope with that.

Couldn't see it been short term, only the end of Wakey in Super League.

Just seen the Look North bulletin, all negative, stating Green Belt & some resident complaining about moving into his perfect retirement home to be faced with Warehouses & Stadia.

I wish they'd interview me cos I'd certainly pull no punches in my criticism of lazy residents, Councilors and journalists who seemingly don't take the time to read the planning documents and associated responses from the organisations that matter.

Just listened to Radio Leeds interview ... and to me it came across as exactly what it is - NIMBY fuelled and a MP/Councilllor, or whatever he is, that hadn't researched or looked at the plans. Just seems like he's taken as fact the c**p on the flyers etc..
