Steadman although i liked and respected him as a player has alot to answer for. He has caused damage in many ways that set us back years.

| Although he has been promising since his return i think this is a good deal for both clubs.

| I heard about two weeks ago from the Dad of a Cas academy player that Cas were very concerned that Sherwin would not play again this season and as a result they were trying to get Quins to loan Gayle ( I think this is the lad that played at Stanley Rangers, and was signed by Leeds at Academy level, his path to the first team was blocked and he was loaned out to Donny, he played well for Donny and Quins took a punt ). I heard that the lad either : wanted to prove himself at Quins : Macdermott did not want him loaned out :
Anyway if Cas were unable to sign Gayle and Sherwin has indeed being ruled out with a long term injury then if Rooney could get himself a contract from Cas to run to end of 2010 they he has done very well for himself. Big boots to fill replacing fans fave Sherwin.

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| And of course we are flush with stand-offs.
Good luck to him, he always seemed like a nice bloke, but we need someone in that position. I suspect we'll play some kind of Brough and Obst partnership at 6 and 7, which resolves the hooker rotation.

| Although I agree with comments above about reducing the wage bill this actually leaves us without a recognised Stand Off.
Grix isn't really quite there although not bad
Obst isn't a stand off although not bad
Martin isn't a stand off though has done reasonably well when we needed
Hardly a line up to take us forward in a very important position.
So if we are replacing Rooney with a new Stand off, we are not really reducing the bill.
If I was going to loan them a player, I'd be loning a kid that needed experience not a starting lead player.
Rooney still has something to offer but to be honest Sherwin is a good team organiser which is what Cas seem to have missed when he is not there. I don't think Rooney solves that problem for them

Rooneys role i think would be to take some of the pressure off chase, as with him being our only recognised play maker teams are targeting him, and when we shift mcgoldrick from fullback he is far less effective.

Yes, the fans have done an awful lot to help Brennan, but I'd have preferred to see Jamie put the extra effort in on the field over the last couple of seasons to "repay" the fans rather than see him stay for another couple of years with mediocre performances at best.
Many thanks for your service Jamie, but it's time to move on and I wish you luck for the future - even if it's with Cas.

I can understand that but its a seperate issue, whats been done for Brennan has been done for Brennan and although Jamies been a Wakey player thats not important to the fund to help the little guy.
I would think its 50/50 TBH.
