| Seeing as we all agree about being light in the forwards what about someone like Stu Dickins from Fev. Good tough forward and can kick as well. I know his is not the youngest but would surely be worth a year. Go easy with the replies

Not going to shoot you down, actually going to agree with you. We need a 'old school' prop.

Couple of years ago would have agreed completely. Very solid, reliable pro who gives his all - unforutately though I think this ship has sailed though.

| Been a fantastic servant for Fev. A good solid grafter with the added bonus of being able to kick goals. Wouldn't be that expensive, so I'd give him a go. But I suspect at this stage of his career he wouldn't want to leave Fev.

| We might be on the light side but I belive the days of the 15/20 mins a game prop are on the way out with the reduction in interchanges. So we might be on a good thing only time will tell.

| I seem to think his agent tried to get him to Wakefield before he joined Fev.

| He'd have been good but I reckon he'd be better staying at Fev. He is big dog there. He'd be good to average with us and only going down hill. His career would benefit by staying at Fev.

If you are going to be shot down it will be for stating the obvious. I think we have got enough players capable of playing Prop. It's not that we won't compete, we will - players will fill the gaps. However there is no doubt that a Tronc or a Watene would be the final piece of the jigsaw and would change us IMO from good outside bet to top eight certainty so long as we are lucky.
Bit I don't get is that people were bagging Fozzard when he was a possibility - logically that makes Dickens is non starter. Say what you like about Fozzard, even on one leg he's better than Dickens (who is a decent lower league player and a small one as well). What Trin fans seem to want is a grizzled old pro who is cheap, can offer us another year yet at the same time has to be at the peak of his game
My suggestions (don't know how in favour they are at their existing club)
Paul Jackson
Nick Scruton - but to be honest I can't see much else.
Problem with NL1 + 2 players isn't that they are not good enough it's because they can't risk good jobs going full time on a one year deal - which is all they will get. There are a number of good props in the National Leagues and in the current economy that is where they will stay - which is sad.

| He played with Salford and was treated badly by Harrison. He had flu and Harrison made him play so they had a barny and that was that. As a junior he was always picked above fielden but signed for the wrong club. At 19 Wigan wanted to sign him but Featherstone wanted £100,000 for a 19 yr old. He then nearly went to London but didn't want to move away. When he signed for Salford he could of signed for wakey and I know he still regrets that now.
He is still an awesome ball handler and I think he could cut it but I know he has a decent job as well as playing at featherstone so don't think it will happen.
Another no nonsense hard as nails prop is Ryan Hepworth from Sheffield, an ex marine, built like a barn door. Turn him full time and he could be good, better than Matty James by a mile

| We need someone of a tronc and watene build or a impact prop like Sam Moa at Hull. Dowes and the likes of paul jackson would be pointless. Jackson is a small prop. Paleasina on the cheap suit anyone.?
