He should definitely be in the conversation and if he carry’s on the way he is should be in the squad at least. Starting over Welsby though if Jack is fit is a very tall order and I believe is a step too far personally. I firmly believe McMeekin is a shoe in. Johnstone should also be there, his work rate and effort based game is absolutely outstanding …… and can obviously finish given the opportunity
Pretty much how I see it. Expect Mckmeeken to maybe even be captain. He’s a natural leader. Johnstone is a machine and had he not missed half the Salford game would probably be top metre maker in the league. His post contact is phenomenal. Jowitt could find himself in the extended squad. Think we will see Pratt and Smith enter the conversation in a few short years. I saw a clip of Ryan Hall giving Pratt praise as they shook hands at the end of the game. Yes a touch of class from a genuinely good bloke even if he is a Rhino

| Connor isn’t as effective at full back as could be seen in the second half last week when he switched there. He lacks the agility for it.
As for Pryce he’s not consistent enough in his performances and still has a lot to prove. He’s only getting mentioned at full back after a game that he had two break away tries vs some incredibly poor defence.
If you’re asking who’s the better full back it’s definitely Max.
Connor seems to be playing well in the halves though.
Knowing Wane he will put Lewis at full back. It irks me that he doesn’t play 9 all year and then Wane throws him in at 9 just to get him on the pitch when there’s a few good 9 options like Litten.

Connor is a defensive liability and way too slow to play FB against Aus. Imagine Cleary bombing him or Mitchell breaking through. Connor is a very skillful player and literally played in a dinner suit the first half against us at 6. We are pretty much halfway through the season so far. Players for me who will be there or there about Welsby Johnstone Wardle Farnworth Young Lewis H. Smith Mcmeeken O’Neill Lee’s Pierce -Paul Nsemba Radley Mulhern Thompson Oledzki Litten Jowitt Smithies Nicholson Marshall J. Burgess Percival G. Williams

| Mostly agree with you Pat, with a few tweaks. Jowitt is the next best British fullback IMO, so it’ll be really interesting to see where Wane goes. It’s the one position England are light on.
Brimson is probably the most likely slot in, which is a shame. And Wane famously doesn’t like picking players unless they’re extremely proud to wear the badge - and that’s Brimson’s test. He’s played Origin, and (I think) one rep match, so he’s ahead of Jowitt in terms of big game experience. He’s more likely to come up with a big moment too. However, I genuinely believe Jowitt is a better all round full back than Brimson, and it’s a massive shame he won’t have a mid-season international to prove it, because I’m positive he would have got a shot.
My team would be: Brimson/Jowitt, Johnstone, Farnworth, Wardle, Young, Williams, Smith, McMeeken, O’Neill, Thompson, Pearce-Paul, Nsemba, Radley. Walker, Havard, Lees, Knowles.
And in reserve I’d have Jowitt, Newman, Lewis, Delaney, Litten, Nicholson, Smithies.

| AJ Brimson is the fourth best full back at the worst side in the NRL, the fact he’s even within a sniff of our international side is a joke.
I’m not a fan of the ‘established’ Aussies suddenly choosing to play for England because they can’t get a spot in their own national side.
We’re a tier 1 nation, I’d much rather try Pryce / Connor / Lewis at full back than AJ Brimson - who in turn has only played full back 5 times in the past 2 seasons.
My obvious shout is also Max, but I feel the bias is high on this forum! Hopefully Truey can get back anytime soon so Jow gets more airtime in the number 1 jersey this season

| We should have 2/3 Wakey players in the Squad which is an absolute testament to where we have come. I’m absolutely gutted for Storton. His form until his injury was incredible. He’s been out that long now I sometimes forget about him.
All in all I’m fairly happy with that England squad Butcher, 1-5 looks very strong, which in years gone by has always been a weakness. I remember Lee Smith against Inglis at the JJB stadium a fair few years ago and it wasn’t even funny. Forwards look strong and half backs look strong too. Can’t wait to get to all 3 tests

Bias? You must be a Cas fan! For me, the Brimson story sheds light on the fact that fans way overrate average NRL players. It’s true, the best of the NRL are the best in the world, the second best in the NRL are probably the second best in the world, but after that it’s level with the top of Super League. We see that when we play the pacific nations. But the presentation and the hype makes it seem like they’re freaks of nature. Following from that, Jowitt is still criminally underrated. A few of us called it before the season started and fans of other clubs laughed. Is it because he doesn’t look the part? Is it because he came with us to the Championship? Is it because he didn’t burst onto the scene like some players did? Now, for me, he’s next FB in line. But I can totally understand why Wane would go with Lewis there, with no warm up game.
