The amount of time Connor was allowed on the ball in the first half at 6 really cost us. There was zero kick pressure and he was literally allowed the opportunity to ghost around with the ball. I don’t know if this was our game plan or just our lack of intent but he literally played with a dinner suit on in that first half.
Leeds were always going to come out with intent given the occasion, the fact we beat them in the first game and also the way they’ve actually been playing. I thought going in only 2 tries the difference wasn’t bad given how we were playing, we looked completely out of the arm wrestle for large periods.
We looked more like the Trinity we were used to watching in the second half though individual errors really hurt us just as we were getting in dominant attacking territory. If we had Trueman playing we win, it’s that simple for me.
On the whole I thought it was an amazing occasion for an exceptional player and Man. Leeds were going to take some beating and given our injuries, I’m really satisfied in the end.
The thing that bugs me ,the way Connor was just allowed to walk to the try line for is try ,no body tried to stop him till it was too late .Griffin cost us that try ,Think it is time he was put on the sub bench ,and Scott was given a start in the second row .Trueman been out injured is bugging me Max as done a good job at 6 ,but he is no stand off that will take us in to the top four .The only good thing to come out of it is ,we can just see how good Rourke is ,he looked great yesterday .We have played 13 games now ,and the importance of a top class 6 is beginning to hurt us big time

One thing that bugs me.
When Kendall give Leeds a penalty for stripping that was kickable it was while trinity players were appealing Leeds had lost the ball to him. He clearly had no idea. Also, there was no angles that showed a strip or even pulling action. So, how did Kendall come to that decision against a couple of appealing trinity players? Did he guess. I feel he didn’t want to incur the wrath of the south stand on some occasions yesterday. Leeds got the lions share of the ruck mostly due to that but I will say I thought Kendal did well not to give in to the Leeds crowd constantly trying to influence a penalty that second half pate on and for Leeds players constantly playing for a penalty that last 5-10 minutes when on back foot.
Also, the penalty we got with a couple minutes to go would have levelled the game had the penalty with no evidence of a strip not been given.
I guess it shows how very fine margins the game is between two very similar teams this season.
The penalty against Max, when he caught the kicker's leg, irked me. I feel that it wasn't a penalty.

| Leeds were very good in first half but I put our first half performance down too as stated Leeds were good but also us having a fans open training event on the day before a match. I love the idea of fan days but not just before match day. We have done this twice now, first one was the home Cas match when we put in a very poor first half and then last Friday which resulted in a half when we played below the standards we have shown in most other games.
Its lovely that players are available to sign autographs, chat with fans, laugh joke and communicate with fans but not the day before match. I want our players taking the pitch like uncaged wild animals, ready to eat raw meat and inflict damage on the opposition. I want them focused, aggressive, violent and ready to do battle. Signing autographs and been nice to young children for me is not the best preparation.
The twice we have done it and the resulting first half performances proves my point.
Yes have fans days but have them a day or two after the match.

Think you are not giving Cas or Leeds credit. for the way they played in the first half .So that is a excuses for the Leeds defeat , what is your excuses for the other defeats ,I think the Cas and Leeds bad first half performance was like the other defeats lack of Ball .If we get our fair share of Ball we can give any one a game .even with a weak pack ,and a make do 6 .

| I guess it's up to the players to decide for themselves if they want to hang around to pose for selfies etc? Some players take defeat differently to others. It's also a relatively "new" phenomena isn't it? I can't imagine the likes of Shaun Edwards, Mal Reilly or Ellery Hanley wanting to hang around after a game for this sort of thing, especially after a loss.

This is one of the most ludicrous things I’ve read on this forum. Shall we lock them all in cages before every match too? Do you think they don’t go home and rest / spend time with their families between training and games? Nothing “proves your point” - it’s two totally indirect points that have no correlation with the other. You’re looking for excuses and sometimes in sport there aren’t any. Leeds were the better side in the first half, Trinity were the better side in the second half.
