| Not good to watch for large parts, but a win is a win. But come on if you'd offered me 4 wins out of 8 in February I'd have snapped your hand off. Yes it was a poor performance but look at the bigger picture where we are and where we've come from. We'll play better and loose and have done. So move on to Catalan where we'll need to go well to get anything.

| I didn?t like to hear the fans booing, I?ve never boo?d the team I?m supporting at any level, very sad to see. Some our younger fans in the northstand are also a tad embarrassing, the flick the V?s at the cas fans and merchant bankers sign all the time is provocative at best, but totall unnessesary, many of these were the same ones booing our team. As for the game, I think the choice of scott on the wing and Pitts in the halves were totally wrong, Walmsley or Rourke on the wing would have been better with scott at Centre, but for me should have been walmsley with rourke at fullback and max in halves, having Pitts play there means we lost his effectiveness in the middle. Somehow we managed to get the win, but that was more down to Cas running out of gas rather than anything we did. Lastly, how can it take so many looks to overturn an on-field call of try with definitive proof, surely if it?s definitive it just takes one look and don?t get me started on the captains challenge, that needs binning off, I was always taught to respect the ref decision no matter what, all this does is adds fuel to the fire of doubting the ref. We all make errors and when a game is played at speed and so much going on, then surely we can for give a ref for the odd indiscretion, I?d rather the marshalled the ruck and high tackles more consistently than question decision's.

| Faatili was massive last night, his strong carries took a lot out of Cas and up there why we edged it in my eyes

| I don?t see peoples infatuation with playing Max at 6.
He is head and shoulders the best full back and we just lose too much with him not in his natural position. Further proved his contribution in scoring the try that brought us back level.
Why people want to upset the spine more I don?t know but I get the feeling it?s more to fit Rourke into the team. I like Rourke but he?ll have to play elsewhere while Max is fit.
I agree about the wing spot and Pitts though.
More importantly we need another halfback to link between Lino and Jowitt. Once we have this I think our attack will begin to fire and execute much better again.
The simplest answer is just to bring in a 6 and your spine is back to 100%.
If there?s no 6 available to bring in we will have to use one from academy or reserves short term instead of Pitts.

| The result was so much more important than the performance. Like TJ said , now he is back at Wakey the one thing he wanted to get off his back was the home defeats to them over the last few years. Now that is done I am more confident about Magic than before. Also its nice to say that we played below our normal standard and come away with a win, we just cannot handle going in to games as pre match favourites. What does need addressing straight away , is a half back partner for Lino, he needs help with someone with pace at the side of him to give him time to bring the forwards and backs in to cohesion. A special mention to the replacements in the 2nd half , they changed the result.

One got man of match, but though when Smith came on he was a big contributor to change the game ,The extra speed he brought to the spine got us back in the game. And got his reward with a brave try .Not having a go at Hood who was a bit quiet ,but maybe a 10 ,15 minutes spell in the first half could have made a difference. But Smith contribution did show the lack of pace in the spine last night .But good to see we hopefully got a star of the future No substitute for pace

| I agree with a lot of the most recent posts.
In my opinion Powell is getting it wrong playing Pitts at 6. It needs to be a player who can play as a recognised half back with genuine pace and a kicking passing game.
Due to injuries unfortunately that is our first choice full back. Playing Rourke at 1 and Jowitt at 6 is stronger than playing Pitts at 6 and Jowitt at 1. If Lino gets injured during a game as solitary half back Trinity are up creek without a paddle?
Pitts is a 13. Understandably where does Cozza then play?
Playing Scott on wing instead of Walmsley was another mistake and was targeted by Cas. Out of position a few times and not quick enough?
Trinity need genuine pace outwide and Walmsley gives that.
Resilience got them over the line just but they need to quickly learn lessons?..

| All our play in the second half came from the interplay between forwards. Lovely passing moves, especially when Cozza came back on.
I felt for Scott; he is not a winger. To be fair he had some good moments in the second half (tackle into touch for one). It was such a crazy call by Powell.
Griffin should never start instead of Vagana. Vagana offers so much more. Yes he made a few mistakes last week, but surely we are meant to give youngsters a chance. Dropping him is no help.
Next week, Hall to centre and Walmsley wing for me. Vagana instead of Griffin. Rourke in at 6 or fullback (then Max moves to 6).

| At the end of the day Rourke would?ve been better at 1 than having Pitts at 6. Stevenson I think is a couple of years away from making the step up.
I think Powell needs to decide who gets the other centre spot out of Hall/Scott instead of shoehorning both in.

I don?t think he would?ve at all. I like Roarke but he?s not got the skills of Jowitt and we lose far too much at full back without Jowitt at 1. You?d just be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Stevenson may be a bit away from a step up but he?d be better than Pitts at 6 and I?d gather we could compensate for 1 young player in the team. That would be last resort though, I?d much rather us bring in a 6 short term and problem sorted. Agree about Hall/Scott though. I said to a few people when Pratt didn?t get the starting shirt that he would force his way in and nobody would dislodge him from first team. They?ll have to fight over the other spot. No Farrimond again for Wigan. He would be a good short term fix up.

| Personally, I think it's now become a problem that we've got a quota player in Walmsley that the Coach doesn't rate. He's got to be making the team when quota spots are so valuable. Also going into the game I know quite a few people were twitchy with having Pitts in the halves again. Having your loose forward trying to play such an integral part of the teams attacking play is just a shot in the dark tbh, and it just puts all the pressure on Lino and the knock on from that is it makes the opposition's job much easier, shutting down one man instead of 2 options. I know it is what it is, but we've got to just get through this period until we get Trueman and Ruessell back, or find a loan replacement. Also on Scott, Powell sees him as a centre, nobody had any problems with his ability in that position previously, in fact, the opposite, he looked very good, and he says that's where he's played the vast majority of his career. There's a big leap between being a powerful meter-eating centre that makes space for his winger and being a fast winger. I think it's unfair for people to judge him in a position he's probably never played before and then want to shove him in the back row because of it. Why he ended up there instead of say, Corey Hall, I'm not sure because he'd have been a better fit imo.,
