| Don't think you're expecting too much re Trueman Legend, some players seem to be able to run niggling injuries off and some don't. Jake seems to be in the latter category.

Lino missed a kick hope he does not get too much stick for that ,Great to see Tom go in from long range ,the way he took the ball for is second try was out standing .Have we got the best pack in Super League, beginning to think so ..Thought Russell at 7 did ok .in fact a great team effort .Just getting fed up with absence of Trueman signed as a marque player .Came with a bad record for missing games .Or am I expecting to much Thought for a minute you were going to get through your post full of positivity and without a whinge obviously not, just out of interest you do know that Powell picks the team and if he thinks that a player isn't quite ready then he can afford not to play him especially with the squad we have, the general consensus at the match tonight was that although Trueman was available for selection it was decided to save him for the cup game who knows eh, if that is not the case and he is still injured then you'd be right to voice your scepticism about the player, one thing for sure, we'll know next Friday.

Your ability to be wrong never waivers. Trueman was never a marquee signing, you’ve completely misunderstood the idea. His injury record was well known and his wage will reflect that. What makes me laugh is the sheer misconception of where we were when we signed him. Contrary to popular belief players were not lining up to join a newly promoted club with a history of under achieving. It all looks very different 6 games in but at the time we signed Trueman we were not that attractive. Getting him, even with his injury history was a coup but also a risk but one we had to take at the time to build up the squad.

| McMeeken must be in the early running for MoS - surely? Outstanding so far.

| Thought the final score line wasn’t a reflection of how tough and competitive the game was, amazes me how a game can certainly blowout in the end. Brilliant result non the less. They really targeted our left edge in that first half to good success, though 2 individual pieces of brilliance by Johnstone certainly shifted the balance of the game in our favour I felt.
Behind a dominant pack, Hood is playing like a top 3 SL hooker. His defence is strong and robust and his RL IQ is so high, he can really create chances and loves a try too. If his form continues like this, keeps injury free and looks to want to continue next year, you’d be happy to see him go around again, his presence and personality is clearly massive in the team. Same goes for Pitts.
Thought our halves were a lot better this week after obviously combining more through the week as a pair. Lino’s kicking game was great, played the conditions really well, in comparison to lam who was error prone and set up Johnstone for more tries than his own team! Leigh’s completion rate was diabolical.
Only thing I’ll say about McMeeken is I can’t wait to see him come the end of the season against the Aussies in all 3 tests. I genuinely wouldn’t swap him for anyone in SL, it’s like having a cheat code having play 80 mins week in week out, though I think he did 60 mins last night.

| I’d agree regarding the score line flattering us as for long periods the game was very much an arm wrestle. We deserved to be 12 up as they were terrible to start however that second 20 they targeted Oli Russell in defence and we were in trouble however we didn’t panic we shored up the issue and fully deserved the win.
MM is a player we are rebuilding this club around and he is thriving on being that player. We have had talisman type players before like Big Dave but I don’t think he contributed in the same way as MM has done so far, he looks to be driving standards across the board where as DF was more inspiring by coming up with an individual bit of brilliance.
Pitts, Uele, Hood, TJ all excellent too, in what was a very good team performance.
I don’t think we can read too much into yesterday regards next week as I don’t think it was as big of a thumping performance wise as the score reflected but full credit to the boys yesterday and if we play to the same level of performance week we will be there or there abouts.
Their main level of threat came when they started rotating their bench on and I think that is one area we need to be better next week.
A cracking night overall though looking forward to Friday!

Very positive after last night ,just shows how good we can be with some 50/50 calls going our way .Ok the score flatter us ,but we were far the better team ,apart from 15 minutes in the first half . Just pass one comment on a player that was not playing last night ,and got to put tin hat on .Question is how can you drop anybody after last night's performance .80 plus completion rate and 9 penalties against that is why we looked so good

Yes, absolutely agree in regards to Fifita, he was exceptional for us and will be forever a legend as a talisman in turbulent times, but I feel McMeeken is a cut above in regards to setting and driving the standards to get to where we all envisage we can. I feel the majority of our tries came from broken play/ interceptions and not set shapes laid on by our halves so next week will literally feel like a fresh slate. It would be an amazing feat getting to a SF in our return to SL.

| Even though it was a big score defense won us that game in my opinion.Leigh really came back at us, as they have done all season successfully but we stood our ground and forced errors.
Just like Sts did to us we capitalised on every error.
Really good performance across the board
I agree it will have no bearing on the cup but we should go in with confidence.
And I agree about MM. I can't honestly think of a better more influential signing in a lot of years.

| The only reason for me that Russell loses his spot in the team is teams really target him in defence and to good effect. Powell stated in his post match interview that Russell has things in his game he needs to work on……. Same could be said about most I reckon.
Lino at 7 and Trueman at 6 defensively is more solid than Lino at 6 and Russell at 7 in my opinion. I have been critical of Lino in attack at times but his defensive is really good, he’s a nasty little sod which I love about him. Either way it’s a lovely position to be in and given that Russell scored 2 tries and managed to tough out their relentless attacking pressure on his edge gives Russell the nod for next week.
