Quote: Slugger McBatt "JD messed up really. His mantra was apparently about player power, and trusting player professionalism. Unfortunately, his roster had players who needed tight management. Latrell Mitchell. Cody Walker. Highly talented but a tight leash required.
He'll come back, and be better for it, but serious questions arose as to his ability to manage big personalities.'"
Spot on.
We view JD through rose tinted specs which is fair enough. We wanted him to succeed, but in truth he failed miserably and from day one.
However some of the best coaches of all time failed badly to start with. Alex Ferguson did and I believe Wayne Bennett did, loads of them.
I’m sure that now he’s no longer in the thick of it he can clearly see where he failed and if he’s what we hope he is he won’t make that mistake again. Go Jason.
