| I don’t know much about his personal life, other than he appeared to walk away from Sale to take his family back to Australia and possibly to qualify and play for his native country and it is surprising that he is playing over here again for a lower league RU team
And I don’t want to be argumentative on this forum, but to say that there are 100 other options for the wing seems to me to be a gross exaggeration. I won’t ask PT to name all of them.
There seem to have been some drug issues in his life too, but there are many, some even on here, who would have taken a punt on Zac Hardaker, with all his problems
There can be no doubt that Solomona is/was a good player and that for one and a bit seasons Daryl Power got the best out of him, I was simply making people aware that a ‘good ‘player was back on these shores, and not too old for a few seasons more
I don’t think we will see him in a Wakey shirt, but I think it undeniable that when he was playing Super League, his ability, marked at least by his scoring prowess, must surely rank higher than a number of current wingers at the club, some perhaps who we have still to see the best of

| He last played rugby league in 2016 so I'm not sure you can use that form to say how good he is.
As for the 100, he is currently playing in RU level 5 league.
Even if you say he's in the best team in the best of the 6 regional leagues there are still 78 teams above them.
I reckon even before you look at rugby league you can say there are 156 above them.

| I don’t think your logic regarding number of wingers stands up.
Numerically yes, but he may well be playing, and is likely to be playing, well above that standard.
According to press reports at the time, it appears that St Helens made an approach for him in late 2022 to replace Regan Grace but he apparently turned them down.
Clearly they must have considered him suitable for top end Super League around 18 months ago.
We don’t know why he is playing at the level he currently is, whether there are mental, physical, or any other reasons but like you, though unlikely for capability reasons, I don’t think we will see him here and whatever is in his past I wish him well for the future. End of

| What about looking at Zac Fulton for bulls. Scored 9 in 9 and can play second row, 13 and centre by the looks but is mainly a second row. Think he only signed for a year at bulls.
Second row is a position we need to look at. That said I like the look of Boothroyd too even though he’s been unlucky with injuries.

I have say I have been impressed with the role of Ste Mills and at the recent forum event with Daryl Powell and Matt Ellis saying that the type of person/ character is important to fit in with the vision going forward I am not fussed we are not linked

Agree, if the club don’t think he’s worth it or the type of player they want to bring in then if this years signings is to go by then so be it.

Well with Lawford picking up an injury there’s an incentive for us to bring in another halfback.
Riley Dean
Ollie Russell
Ryan Hampshire (loan)?
Could be options.
Kay shouldn’t really be an option except forced by emergency.

Been thinking since I posted that and wouldn't Powell have been in charge at Warrington when they let Dean go out on loan to Fev then Cas last season, so maybe he doesn't rate him or maybe they just wanted him to get game time elsewhere ??
