| Just listened to the CC press conference and it must be a record – it only took 60 seconds for my blood to start boiling. “We’re getting as much as we can get out of this group” – he might of well have said ‘the team are full of triers but ultimately crap’ or ‘how am I supposed to work with this bunch of losers’. Well, guess what, CC, they weren’t crap 3 and 4 years ago when John Kear was holding your hand and you had two consecutive fifth place finishes. It’s become very clear to many of us who was ultimately responsible for the success of the team for which CC was happy to take credit a few years ago. However, when things have got tough following JK’s departure, it is remarkable how the nucleus of that successful team which brought CC the plaudits has suddenly become a set of talentless triers – no flies on CC is there.
God knows what the lads must think when they hear their coach basically calling them rubbish; it’s bloody disrespectful and does he honestly think it is going to motivate them. It just goes to prove how clueless he is and what a decent bunch of players we have when they put in a shift like last night. They turn up notwithstanding their coach constantly whining about them, complaining about the quality of the squad and blaming the absence of so and so player in order to try and deflect the blame and criticism from his own coaching shortcomings.
A good workman never blames his tools so CC should stop the bleating, roll up his sleeves and get on and do what he is paid to do. If he can’t sort out our attack in the next few games then for gods sake do the right thing and let someone else take over before it’s too late for the club and we get relegated.
He needs to take a leaf of the books of Watson, Powell, Kear and Ward who have all shown how to get teams playing rugby on limited resources. The squads that those guys inherited and have coached have had their fair share of injury woes and have not comprised many, if any, of CC’s so called ‘A’ players but they have nevertheless been competitive - and one of the main reasons for that is the structure and discipline that those coaches bring to both defence and, in the department which we are, and have been so clueless, attack.
I’ve said it on another thread and I’ll say again here, watch the best and replicate what they do. Nail the plays that break down defences in training and let’s see what happens come match day when those plays are put on in a structured system of attack. Just bring some structure to our attack and let’s see where it gets us – this team of players are perfectly capable of executing; it’s the coach who needs to stop whinging, pull his finger out and make sure that his team are prepared on match day.

Scarlet and the rest of resident doom mongers will be getting all giddy and excited again this week in eager anticipation of our next game, after the Catalans have lost today, and the expected backlash will be against Trinity. I may have to put the whole lot of them on Ignore.

| I really don’t like calling for anyone’s job, but enough is enough. Chester has been lucky that there are no fans at the grounds as it would not be a very nice place for him right now.
The club has to be bigger than the coach and the owner to that end.
This is the first time that I’ve ever thought that we could go down because of our lack of coaching. Looking back at our time in super league I’ve never expected us to stay up with some of the squads we’ve had but this squad I’d really expected too half. This can only be the coaching.
Time to change, I’d expect to be sacked if I wasn’t performing in my role. If it’s beyond Chester ‘ which I think he has proved’ then time for the club owners to man up. Friends or not the job comes first.

I wouldn’t worry about me like I don’t care about what you post on nearly every subject but the number of others that are now starting to question all aspects of the club and coach. I suppose you could suggest to them that they should buy the club which apparently you value at £1.
I would also point out that I have never made a reference to our fitness or refereeing but I am sure you will have because I don’t think there are many things you do not have a view on and feel everyone should know what it is.
