Sides have always wasted some time from these stoppages in play but, it's reached epidemic proportions this season and most sides are culpable, with players dropping to ground with a mystery injury, only to jump back to their feet when they feel that their side is "ready to go".
As for Tomkins knees, definitely deliberate and his look of fear after he connected, showed, not remorse for an accidental collision but, fear of being sent off and costing his side victory.

Both incidents should have warranted a yellow. Cheating and dirty play is part and parcel of the game. However we are supposed to be monitoring this sort of foul play while the game is going on.
