Quote: Oddshapeball "How can you comment on Neil if you never show him play? I was previliged so watch him many times and can tell you he was a special player. First of all his goal kicking was brilliant he knocked them over from the halfway line either side of the field and with a leather ball that weighed a ton when wet, His speed was deceptive because of his hight and his points record speaks for itself. and don't forget all this was achieved when the game was part time, if he had been lucky enough to receive the same attention as today's players in a full time environment he would have been a sensation, trust me.'"
Big Neil was special. It is hard to compare yesterdays players with todays SL players, but Neil had the physique, the power, the skill, the heart, AND he had a day job as well!
I think in todays game, with the care and preparation the players get nowadays Nei would still have be a superstar.
In fact in the whole of SL today there is no one who could touch Neil for skill and even more so his brother Don, who also had it all.
