Heard on the grapevine Clarkes Brewery in Wakefield are moving to the Newmarket site in the summer of next year (201icon_cool.gif and will be taking 120000sq ft of space. Anyone else with an input who can confirm this please.

Excellent if true, it should have been bulldozed years ago. The red herring that Yorkcourt and Box fed Rodney of getting a lick of paint for BV meant that Newmarket was put back years.

I also fear this tactic may be used again in the not too distant future. They still believe people are stupid enough to swallow this and by putting it back on the table again they could drag it on till we pack up altogether then then they will have to give us nothing.

Still prefer to stay at BV myself if it were possible. However your absolutely right in what you say as is Belly - it has to be NM as per the agreement - or if there is an alternative it better be available instantly or work on it starts instantly.

In other words cash up front.

Just checked the land registry website Group 88 paid £760K for Belle Vue. That is peanuts when you look at the profit Yorkcourt will make out of the planning gain at Newmarket and they were not even prepared to stump up that! Tells you all you need to know.

A revamped Belle Vue was always a massive red herring and we were gullible enough to swallow it. If anyone ever suggests it again they should be told where to shove it.

Didn't really happen like that though did it, the re-vamp was a consequence, a necessity born out of the anticipated construction at Newmarket.
If there was any swallowing going on it was with regard to the promise, not the make do and mend till its built.
