Quote 18th Man="18th Man"I know that, but I was backing up wrencat, if I had left it too late then I wouldn't bother for the sake of £10, half a game free doesn't really tempt me. I live in Rotherham so doubt i'll really use any of the other 'benefits', I could see the point in someone more local to the discount places buying it later though just not myself.'"
Exactly - in rare cases like the one you describe, it's probably better for the club if you pay walk-up prices.
I'm not sure I understand where the confusion comes from; there is a clear incentive to buy early - that's proven to be a powerful enough incentive that thus far, 4.5k people have chosen to take it up, with probably another thousand or so likely to follow suit before the second tier early bird price expires.
The rest are likely to be walk-ups paying full price - so the offer appears to have achieved its objective of putting over half a million quid in the club coffers early, in a way that allows financial forecasts to be done in a predictable way with known values.
Simple.
