With a very average team it looked like progress had been made, then London last week and last nights game. We have very average players, and alll would have to be at the top of game to win, chances of winning 3 on trott zilch.
Agar can only pick what hes got, the players have let him down .
I think we were very keen to get rid of JK at the end of last season. I know plenty of you played hell about the team and JK last season, but look what he had to work with. JK shoiuld have been offered a 1 year deal and given some money to spend.
The present flock of players offer very little, and if you could pick a team from the last 4 years squad i doubt any of the present players woiulf feature.
Changes will be made on Monday, because they have to be. I dont think agar can be blamed 100% , but he now must loose faith with a couple and give a new look to the team.'"
I'm not sure I completely agree with this. R.A. has not rotated the squad enough in my opinion and is now paying the price. He thought he'd give them a chance to turn it around and its backfired and shown a weakness to change things asap and keep players on their toes.
Also sorry for the repetition (as a large number of others have said it) but I do not think Southern is super league quality and hasn't a cat in hells chance of getting into the Exiles squad. R.A. will stick with him though as he's made him the captain and will not want to acknowledge his mistake, its also an expensive one if he's on a 2/3 year contract playing in the reserves.
On paper we have proven super league quality players -(Lauititi,Amor,Ellis,Aiton,Smith,Mathers,Fox,Cockayne,Wilkes,Kirmond,Raleigh,Washbrook) which I think is a better squad than last year (which only had 18 full time players at one time) although he gets rid of a prop such as Korki which was madness?! He should have put him on a 1 year deal instead of converting 2nd rows like Johnson/Southern who don't have the raw aggression/size to bust tackles from 18 stone opposition.
R.A. has gone too far down the road of 'the team needs to get to know each other route' and when the cracks began appearing against Bradford he should have brought youth into play asap(James,Mariano,Trout,Walshaw,Wildie) like Millward has done at Cas and rested those whose performances were becoming inconsistent in the pack (& possibly elsewhere although the pack has become championship material on form now).
There are players such as Ellis, James, Mariano, Walshaw,Trout and Wildie that have barely got a game yet & should have 2/3 under their belts by now! Does R.A. really need someone like Noble to come in on a consultancy basis?
Collis when eventually fit, looks as though he will be an asset & since he's been injured WTW have imploded.
