I've just joined now, i was disapointed with how the meeting was oversold (IMO) and did leave before the second announcement as i was kn*ckered after a long day (and disappointed) but ultimately the scheme is good for the club regardless of whether we are in Sl or not and therefore i'll support it and hope we can make a succes of it (which should IMO encourage the scheme to offer other prizes such as hospitality packages etc).

Yes imo they got it the wrong way round.

I agree, but the way it was set up meant that more people will have signed up on the night, which ultimately means it may have been for the best.

Just done a quick calculation in my head

if we managed to recruit 2000 people to the club 1873 draw that equates to

£208,000 per year

deduct from that
2 X £5000 &

[u£25,600[/u

= £182,400

further deduct the lottery manager's wages
est: £22,000
running costs
est: £6,000

Total investment into the youth policy
= £154,400 per year

if that level of investment is added to the club's existing annual budget for youth development then we should be spending somewhere between

Without doubt that would give us probably the best funded and potentially most successful youth development system in rugby league

Who knows, i just prefer the carrot and stick option and not the stick and carrot option.

Been on holiday so didn't make the meeting last week and haven't time to read through all the threads re the 1873 club but have a couple of questions :

(1) Presume you still can't do it online?
(2) Do you have to pay the full amount up front for the option you select?

Also, if I buy my two kids a junior membership does this count to the 5000 total we are trying to achieve?
