They have been at it 5 years and spent an extra £1m over the cap on players salaries in that time.
They didn't find out because it was a very sophisticated third party payment system involving two sets of accounts. But as with most fraud, they did find out in the end and that is all that matters.
This is not over, expect long term or even permanent player suspensions, tax and criminal investigations. Also, expect one or two people to be doing some 'bird' over this as well.
