| That is unless we play at home or Batley!
Following yesterday's excellent come-back (and comments posted) I thought that I would check the 'Dual Registration' Rules, which state:
C1:2:23“Dual Registration” is the system whereby a Super League Player continues to be registered to and be eligible to play for his current Super League Club and is also registered to play for a Championships Club.
The purpose of this Rule is to provide an enhanced Player development pathway for young Super League Players who are not thought to be ready to make the step up to Super League first team on a permanent basis but for whom first team match experience in the Championships is likely to be beneficial for their development. It is intended to provide additional flexibility for Clubs to make arrangements that suit the Player’s development needs whilst protecting both the playing squad requirements of the Clubs concerned and the integrity of both competitions. The purpose of this Rule will be taken into consideration if an issue arises that is not expressly provided for in these Rules.
So, where do 33 year-old Jordan James and a fully-fit Gill Duerden, with 36 first team appearances for Wigan fit into the requirements?
I suppose that Ade Gardner (when he played for Whitehaven) could also be considered to be another non-compliant player!
Or, as usual, am I missing something?

simpsons/simp048.gif I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

I think it's being mis-used and was always likely to be. Stupid League don't care about anything but themselves and whilst there are teams like Swinton and Workington who are prepared to bend the rules, it will continue.
I have no problem with the old system of loaning players for a fixed period, usually to help out with an injury, but DR is in danger of ruining our division.

| Last year duel reg didn't really help a couple of teams, if anything might have even hindered them with the duel reg players perhaps not training weekly with their teammates? York beat Fev last year and looked to have a solid Hull team from memory and they have been relegated, presumably their relegation was from the unreliable provision of regular payers and the difficulties in training as a regular team.
It makes the victory of Workington and Whitehaven even sweeter, to see players like Jordan James, Dudson and Ade Gardner at the receiving end of a loss. Well worked together periods by Cougars resulted in 20 minutes of unstoppable pressure through passing moves, set piece kicking etc. This takes hours on the training field. , i dont think you can turn up on match day as full back like Gardner probably did
Had we have been twinned with Rhinos or Wire in the beginning of duel reg I wonder if it would have been different this season? So far whilst it makes some games of course harder, I think our squad and positivity is enough to give any team in Championship a game and I think a big resounding boll**ks to duel reg is hopefully what we are showing the RFL and the teams we beat that (ab)use the system

You beat me to it! This is an absolute disgrace. It is a total fraud and it devalues the competition. DR needs to be booted into touch pronto.

I queried this last season with the RFL and I was told that there is still a pathway for young Super League players even if Adrian Morley and Lee Briers and the like play the odd games. On the whole most of the players that are being used on DR are young fringe players with the odd occasion when older players. They saw no losing of integrity by either competition but stated that they would monitor it and if need be alter it at the end of the season (the 2013 season). Well they haven't and it is up to the clubs to use it or not as long as all the players used are dual registered with the RFL.

| And now we have Josh Charnley looking to play for Workington!
Enough said!!!!!!!!!
If he does play then his impact on their results will be interesting to note.
