| Just a reminder that the Cougarmania- the movie is on tomorrow (Thursday 13th February) at eight o'clock at Keighley Playhouse. A number of Cougar legends have indicated they will try and be there.
Mike Smith should be on Calendar tonight (12th) talking about the great film.
A few tickets are left and can be obtained by ringing Graham on 07801 922 460 and reserving your place.

| What a brilliant film. Amazing to see how the whole area went into orbit in those cougarmania days.

| Excellent night and well attended. Nick Pinkney looks pretty much unaged! I bet he can still run 100m in 10.5seconds. The fake sheikh was also a highlight.
It was quite sad to relive the experience but refreshed the memories of those glorious years. Cougars were so close to achieving something very special, we pioneered the game into what it is today. Batley were getting 700 crowds, cougars 4000, the town got swept up in cougarmania and it was great to be part of it. rlhttps://www.independent.co.uk/sport/discord-strikes-cougar-country-1614897.htmlrlRemember this article
A few things that happened in those days are interesting. Taking 1000 school kids to wembley, perhaps the initiative of getting u17s down by giving free season tickets is an attempt at that but maybe another attempt at something like that? Again all part of a sustainable future for the club. Your Sporting chance are doing excellent work similar to that was done with the PAWS foundation, juvenile offences went down 11% against a national increase of 12%. The club are doing similar things now, albeit with less staff and budget.
Sponsors were key to the success, they were willing to spend decent cash on the dream. The current directors (i know many of you are critical) have taken on a loss making company on the verge or liquidation and are trying their best with a skeleton staff drumming up support from sponsors where they can, It certainly appears better on the sponsor front this year than it has for a while. My view is we cannot punch above our weight just yet, this season does have big implications but getting a top class coach and players must be unsustainable on the current budget (demetriou called in favours lets not forget), otherwise surely they would do this? A business decision has been made not to do this and to repair an almost condemned wooden stand. I put my trust in their decisions, it is better to have a sustainable club ready to pounce when the time is right. Lets hope that's next year in SL2 or whatever they are calling it!

| A great evening and a fantastic film that evoked a ton of memories,
Good and not so good .
A STERLING effort by Mike Smith who must be congratulated !
Those who missed this missed out on a fabulous evening ,
Great to see the ex players to turn out as they did , including
Paul Moses , Nick Pinkney , Simon Irving and John Wasylyw (spelling ?)
The only glaringly obvious ' Elephant in the room ' ...........
Where was Gary Fawcett ?

| Yes It was a great night and well done to all those involved. Also really enjoyed the players talking about how special a time it was. The mass exodus of Keighley children to Wembley sent a shiver down my spine! I recall meeting a fan from one of the big clubs saying how impressive this was.
(to be fair to Gary I didnt expect him to be there on the night)

Dumbo has now left the building ....Neil Cullen was there representing the directors , and he even got the beers in for the small band of supporters who wandered round to Spoons after the event had finished .

| Maybe not well-known but one of those 1,000 kids who went to Wembley was -Buster Feather! So you see the work done in the past paid dividends in the present. I think lessons can be learned from that film how to manage a struggling rugby club to success.
