| Just for a bit of crimbo fun. select your squad of all time
Mine spans from the early 90's to current as my life span only really covers that but you can include any player that has played at least 1 season at cougar park. Name your 17
1. Andre Stoop (The ex Wigan man was a very classy player, sadly he missed the South Africa International again Fiji at cougar park in 95)
2. Nick Pinkney (3 apps for England while at the Cougars, say no more really)
3. Andy King (Think he only played one season for us but what a class act, he has played for many NRL clubs, Souths, Northern Eagles and Manly, great player)
4. Matt Foster ( Remember the chants Foster for England from the Spice boys, PS Defo id av him at centre not FB)
5. Jason Lee (The Wales International was a prolific try machine in the early naughties and could kick a goal too)
6. Daryl Powell (the Ex GB man was a mega signing when he came and obviously went on to be player coach)
7. Barry Eaton (Ok we didn't get him at his prime, but as he proved in the all stars game he has that x factor)
8. Grant Doorey (The Aussie proved how good he was when he came back as player coach of Villnerve to dump us out of the cup, he ripped us to pieces)
9. Jason ramshaw (Rammy, Mr Keighley cougars, true legend)
10. Ian Gatley (The big man himself the ex Parramata and Manly prop had a couple of great seasons at CP)
11. Jason Demetriou (Certainly been the best person at the club both on and off the field in recent years)
12.Darren Fleary (great work horse, a player that actually really benefited from the demise of cougar mania after making a successful switch to Leeds)
13. Martyn Wood ( Woody many wondered if he even knew what he was doing half the time but boy didn't we half miss him when he didn't play)
14. Sam Obst (had many critics but you could just see he was playing at a level below himself)
15. Sonny Whakarau (only a season at the club and I don't think things went too good for the NZ Mauri INT but still he was some battle axe)
16. Brendon Hill ( The man mountain cannot be left of this team, the trues good old fashioned prop)
17. Phil Cantilon (live wire hooker, played most of his best rugby while at the cougars)
Coach: Phil Larder

| Good team choice team there ' St ' ,
Before I ponder and pontificate My full team choice I think the addition
of John Wasyluw (spell check please). Or David moll from a while before the 90s
Would have played well with that team !

| You can't overlook Critchley for me. I'd also probably pick Applebye ahead of Eaton.

| I must apologise to 'Bootsie' - Brian Jefferson who, like 'Stoopie' was an 'all-round' full back and goal-kicker.
Then there's Terry Hollindrake and Garfield Owen.

| There are some good choices in the OP.
I think there are several players whom should also be in contention.
Steve hall, prop/ second row, looked like he was destined for SL/ international honours before his terrible broken leg in the cup game against Warrington.
Joe Grima, prop/ enforcer, nuff said.
Phill Stevenson. Second Row/prop. He left under Phil Larder and went back to the amature game, came back lean, fit and fast. Him and Ramshaw carried our team for a good few seasons and I would like to have seen how he would have coped with our "best" around him.
Andy Shickell. Prop. It would be interesting to see how Andy raised his game if playing with our best.
Nathan Antonik. I can't think of a more rounded "complete" scrum half in my time watching Keighley. Appleby was also brilliant at times (who can forget his old trafford performance) but his injuries held him back.
Simon Irvine, goal kicking centre with a great rugby brain and a good tackler.
Jason Critchley, big, fast and elusive winger.
Dean Hanger, stand off/centre hobbled onto the pitch like his knees were shot but once he got the ball in hand he was simply devastating.
Greg Austin should get a mention but I thought he was a little . (I actually wrote something else but the swear filter changed it!).
We've had quite a few players toward the end of their career so I suppose it depends whether you count them at their very best or their condition when they played for us. (Ie Gearge Mann, Niel Lowe, Ian Hughes, St John Ellis)

16. Graham Beale
17. Brendan Hill
Although good enough to be in the all-time elite, I am not old enough to have had the pleasure of seeing Hollindrake, Owen, Sabine and Crewdson play, so I cannot comment. However, based upon my own experience, the above are some memorable players.
From outside the cougarmania years.
Stoop or Jefferson? I had to go for Jefferson due to his all round skill, including an expansive kicking game.
John Burke - Terrorised some of the supposed big guns when he played against them. (Jim Mills)
Kevin Farrell - Not alot remember him from my age group, but a solid second rower with an explosive turn of pace.
Graham Beale - Left winger who became a half back to great effect.
David Moll - Winger with great expectations, but decided on a career in the army.
Dean Raistrick - Popular hooker with county honours

| Really seriously cant be done ...everyone's perception of what a great player is is different ..
A legendary club man and stalwart of the team , always almost a forward ,such as Stevo, Rammy , Gates n now Buster will always score massively with me ..I can see the contribution of playes like King , Obst and Wasyliw as massive to the team but for only one or two seasons ..?
Similarly I can only judge players from the past on reputation alone ..I'd have loved to see the likes of Harry Myers , Hal Jones , Norman Foster, Terry Hollindrake and Billy Watson in their prime , along with countess other Lawkkolme Greats ..instead of only relying on press reports of their abilities ...

| Centres like Les Thomas and Kenny Roberts also, equals and possibly better than Andy King.
It's a pity that Matt Paratta was unable to realise his true potential.

| Forgot to mention Jon Green and his 80 yard try against Hull KR in the Cup that enabled us to draw the game and earn a replay at Hull which we won.
Tommy Searle and Ivan Pascoe were the other two members of that great trio and should also be considered as second row and right wing contenders.
