I came away from yesterdays game feeling very down.
I didnt care about the result. I have seen us lose by much bigger margins. I got in my car to drive home and thought. Our future lies in the hands of Cas.
Later in the season if Cas have a very bad run of injuries. We will be stuffed. Who the hell will we be able to use.
Why should any one now pay into squad builder. If our squad isnt good enough. We may as well bring in some Cas players.
I love watching Keighley because i like to see how players, coaches preform over the season.
Now that wont happen. One week a certain player from Cas may play. The next he could be playing for Cas.
A fringe player would have looked forward to seeing us have a lot of injury's. This would be there chance to have a game and hopefully steak a claim for a place the week after. That chance wont happen now as we will just take a Cas player for the game.
I see posts have been made saying March isnt a good enough coach for this league. Unfortunately we are never going to really find that out. March isnt going to be able to study teams, before a game properly if they have a feeder club system in place. Any team we play using this system could bring in any player at any time. Also calling his ability as a coach cant be done. A coach has to be able to balance his squad. That cant be done as he can call on players of much better ability's than he has in his squad.
In the second half Gav made a break. It had try written all over it. Well it did till Ade Gardener produced a fantastic bit of skill. He came form the other side of the pitch to close Gav down. Gav was then forced to pass inside. The trouble was the cover was close enough to get a tackle in.
Would this have happened if Gardner hadnt have been playing. In my opinion it wouldnt and Gav would have gone in.
Gardener was able to read the game and his athleticism meant he could cover the ground. This creates a unbalance in the way a game would normally unfold.
I see in todays League Express its reported. That the Leigh coach Paul Rowley says that clubs using the D/R is "disrespectful". He is right.
