| Afternoon folks ... A quite bizarre incident happened in the first half of Sundays game behind the sticks and I just wondered what others views were on this.
There appears to be a split in the crowd between the Danny Jones fan club and er ... the anti Jones club resulting in 2 sets of fans having choice words with each other on Sunday .
If it wasnt so tragic it would be funny (talk about sticking together to support your club )
I for one dont rate Jones this season, I think he lacks confidence and wont back himself, So whats the answer ? drop him into the reserves and knack his confidence even more OR keep watching him let himself down. In his defence he did spray some nice passes out on Sunday ... BUT SOME had a big nasty red crosses on them.
Whats the answer ???

| You'll always get fans arguing amongst themselves at games, it's be boring if we all had the same opinions. Just so long as it doesn't get out of hand, and let's be honest there's the usual suspects down there who'd argue black was white so long as it suited them.
I was a fully paid up member of the Danny Jones fan club before he went to Fax but he's not been the same player since he came back.
His kicking game, especially at goal is off. When he receives the ball, everything seems to slow down instead of speeding up like it should when it reaches a half back. One thing he has added to his game is a show and go but he doesn't look to use it enough. His defence just isn't what it used to be either.
Coleman at 6, Obst at 7 and Lawton kicking the goals for me.

| This is a good thread and one that will attract a variety of arguments for and against.
I tend to agree with the Stealth in that he hasn't come back the same player. IMO we've had issues with the halves all season. Our for and against points stats prove this. Defensively we would be at the top end of the table, but offensively we're left a bit wanting. I'm not saying it's just the halves, but it's definitely a bearing.
Whether Obst and Jones can play together, I'm not convinced. You get this sometimes in sport and it's not a slur on either player. When Jones isn't playing though we do seem to lack a bit of direction and structure.
Has his inclusion in the regular Wales squad had a bearing? He also looks a little overweight to me.
Coleman is too inconsistent to command a regular spot and I'd support a big re-think at the halves for next season. I don't know Jones' contract length, but out of all our halves I'd pick Sam every day of the week and base players around him. I've heard some fans critique Sam too so we're all going to have different views. The ex Blackpool halve Hemmingway is at Feav and I have always been impressed with him. He's not getting a game in the Feav first team and I'd be excited to see what he and Obst could do. There's a lack of good halves available though.
As for the fans, I shake my head at some of the comments I hear, but they've paid their brass so let them have their say. I heard someone have a go at Jones for not taking the ball in himself from the re-start when he had an 18 stone forward ready to take the pass at speed.

| I don't think it was a case of arguing or being in Danny Jones fan club.Certain fans react differently to what happens on the field, the majority get behind the team no matter what to encourage the team to up there game,a small number like to vent there disappoint at certain players performances through not so encouraging loud comments, which the players often pick up on,this year the so called big name players Richie,Danny,Sam and Semi have all at some point been the focus of this small number of fans disappointment at there performances. Thus sometimes this leads to an exchange of view between fans during the game, however the same fans can often be seen drinking together in the bar after the game,no feelings hurt and no spilt blood,
That is the nature of rugby league take 20 fans watching the same game from the same place and you will get 20 different views on how the game went, and in my opinion long may it continue.

| Quote: Alec Fisher ":I agree with you Shaunw78, theres to much mud slinging.... all them SO called supporters dont deserve to wear the red .white. & green. on there scarves. ive seen a lot of good & bad performances from individual players over the last 45 years while ive been supporting them and ive kept my thoughts to myself lets just hope no players read or hear the bickering......NUFF SAID..
I get your point Alec to a certain extent, but in 45 years technology has moved on. Years gone by I'm sure fans chewed the fat over the performances in the pub, but now with the advancements of IT and social networking fans and players express their thoughts in this way. As long as it's constructive I don't think there's a problem with fans expressing their views. Players I'm sure will look on here and have twitter accounts. Some may even agree with some of the comments....
As for the fans, as Stealth has said we're not all the same and have different views. If they choose to have a debate over something in the stands and it's not offensive or out of hand where is the problem? I've had debates with opposing fans in the past which was all in good spirit. That's what's good about our sport and I don't think that should change. It would be a bit dull if we had to keep stum on the stands for fear of upsetting the sensitive.

| On this topic Danny Jones was woeful last night. Every time he had the ball he gave the same deep ball over his left shoulder and he may as well told Leigh what he was up to before the game because it was so obvious. Poor old Craig Moss got crunched twice because Leigh knew exactly what he was going to do.
As for Obst he has been non existent in every game I have seen this season. Waste of time.
Coleman and March for me in the halves everytime.

simpsons/simp048.gif I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

| Fans have argued since sports first started; some do it in conversation, others shout at each other on the terraces. At least it shows passion for the team doing well.
Personally I don't like to shout derogatory comments at players, but I can understand the frustrations that lead to this happening. Some people wear their heart on their sleeve -although in my opinion their actions are counterproductive.
What gets on my wick are those who constantly pick on one player good game or bad. I was stood at the scoreboard corner two years ago and one fan was hurling a stream of abuse at one player in particular. It didn't matter what the player did, he found fault. Even when the player set up a stonking try then went on to have a blinder he didn't say one word of praise. Odd, but every team has them.
