I thought we played reasonably against a strong side. Error by lawton put us right under pressure at the start. Then we ran sideways too often or playing the ball too slow for us to work against their quick defence. We didn't let the game run further away from us, so that is at least one positive. I'm still confused about the clock with 2 minutes at the end. Would love to know whether anyone else thought there was crossing and knock on in the build up of their first try? I need stronger glasses for the next time I watch a game at don valley.

The stadium clock is an unofficial one. The only clocks that matter are the one's that belong to each time keeper in the stands.

Poor game to watch tonight, I don't think their short, narrow field helped with that. For 70 minutes we looked clueless in attack. We were using the same set move, sending Moss on the loop down their right edge over and over again. It was so predictable. Sheffield like they have all season used the umbrella defence and we lacked the know how to beat it. We should have been either sending kicks in behind their blitzing wingers or floating cut out passes over the top of them.

The most alarming thing is how badly we are starting games at the moment, we are leaving ourselves too much to do.

You should have realised from the first half - when the clock went to zero and then we had about another 6 tackles - that the clock wasn't in sync.

Got to say though Hillsbrough has a cracking chippy across from spoons.

When I see a stadium clock at 40 I assume we're in stoppage time, knowing that it isn't showing official time. This clock had the opposite with time leftover, so the clock had included stoppages but at one point must have stopped too long. I didn't and am not having a go at anyone, it just confused me.

Although I wasn't present; just compare our magnificent time-piece that Alan manages with aplomb (and his stick).

It used to go downhill (0 - 30) faster than it did uphill (31 - 40) but got there in the end!

Then, if you still have a problem, you can complain!
