On walking back from the pub after watching the World Club Challenge game in Toulouse I came across a 5ft by 2 1/2 ft advertising hoarding on one of the main boulevards in the city for tomorrow's game.

I've taken a picture, I'll put it on when I get back home.

To put in to perspective, it was the kind of advertising display you'd see in almost any town or city centre. Either on a bus shelter or, like this one was, on it's own dedicated advertising hoarding.

In time of economic hardship the club needs to get off it's backside, work damn hard and go out in to the town and look for new fans. All I see at the moment is a half d effort. Facebook and Twitter campaigns are all good ideas but they require folk to be already liking or following in order to be effective.

We had a really good idea with the season tickets. But to be quite honest I've seen church fêtes promoted better than that was. I've lost count of the amount of the people who have come to me and said they only knew about the deal through me. Am I as a loyal fan, expected to do the clubs marketing job for them?

What ambition does the club have? Are they working on the rather arrogant assumption that "If you build it they will come"?

Idont think the bank balance is all that good and you cant put posters up for free they need printing then you need to rent space to put them up the club have no choice but to have people like you telling people whats going on.Even the paper want paying so thats that.The money they have is needed to get a team that wont get hammered every week then no people will come that will meen less money just give them a chance to do what they can

There is a big COUGAR sign on the wall of K2 on North Street in Keighley town centre.

What I'm getting at is that if a similar sized club like Toulouse can manage it why can't we?

Most of the pubs even had small posters in their windows advertising this game and the South Wales Scorpions game. It was a real eye opener.

How about asking company's to pay and they can have there company name on it as well.

bearing in mind that Stade Toulousain were also at home that afternoon at about the same KO !

Their club shop near Jeanne D'Arc is something else. It puts most Premier League football clubs to shame never mind Cougar Park's Portakabin. There must be a hell of a lot of money going in to that club if they can get away with selling home shirts at €130 a piece.

In the airport on the way out they had big TO XIII balloons up on the ceiling by the check in desks. They really seem to get behind their local clubs down there.

Just popped up to the local village post office to get a copy of RLE. I can't complain at all about your article. It was a decent game with, as you put it, all 3 results possible right up to the last play of the game. I don't think anyone could complain at the outcome as I don't think either team really deserved to win the game outright. Good stuff.
