| Does anyone know how many season Tickets have been sold?
The club said they would keep people posted, Yet nothing as much as whisper
The thing is Im not willing to pay £120 for one (i wont be able to attend all the games 7 or 8 depending on actual dates) due to other commitments
So im happy to pay the £100 or less but not £120 or id be out of pocket (money is very very tight right now) so the games that I will be attending
Seeing as I havent been able to get through to the club in the last few days or any upto date info on the website Can any of the cougar army help?
Thanks

| We have had JD saying that we need the fans to buy season tickets, but the club don't make it easy to do so. I have also been trying to contact the club to buy two tickets but with no success.
Last week I went to the Grand Final showing with my cheque book in my pocket expecting that there would be someone there selling tickets and shirts as we were told, but there was no sign of anybody. It seemed that most people had just gone there for a pint and anything else was an inconvenience.

Sadly, you are not the first person to have mentioned this, A cougar park regular told me last week that they also turned up with the intentions of buying their season ticket only to find that there wasn't anybody selling them and they said they would have felt uneasy interupting either JD or other management to request one, this person bought one at this time last year, they still havent bought one for next season as yet.
Seems that there has been a missed opportunity

| I didn't have any trouble buying my season tickets. Rang up, paid by card. So it can be done. I agree with what has been said. I thought I might buy a grand final shirt aftet the video finished but didn't feel comfortable interrupting JD while he was talking to other people. They mentioned Rob Weir the commercial manager, bit I don't know what he looks like. I have a day of holiday on Monday and I'll be in the area so hopefully I can buy a shirt when I go to the club on Monday.

| I went to the Grand Final showing night, signed up to Squadbuilder there. JD and Rob Weir could NOT have been more helpful, short of paying for it themselves!
I know what you mean about not wanting to interrupt but the shirts were clearly on sale at the front, and as for the rest, I'm sure no-one would've minded you asking.
Oh, and I had no problem buying a season ticket weeks ago, either; just rang up and did it over the phone. I have a feeling loads of folks have held back buying season tickets, just to see how much they'll be. I've also a feeling that that holding back is going to be what pushes the price up for all who eventually get one!

| From my point of view, I know I want a replica shirt and I know I will buy one so the club hasn't missed an opportunity with me, just delayed it. I also have no doubts having rung the club before and spoke to JD and Rob that they were both very helpful. I think though that people are used to being sold to these days and it seems with the comments above that more of a sales pitch for shirts, squadbuilder or tickets and a could have made a little difference. Somebody could have passed by each table and said "Can I interest you in a season ticket etc", like somebody kindly did for pie and peas. Perhaps there were some people that could have persuaded to join squadbuilder but just needed a more personal sales pitch? Nobody can change the past, so the real question is, do you think the next time a similar occasion is run that the club would benefit by quick sales pitch to each individual table?

Agreed. Got two over a month ago, no issue. Having said that it was 11am monday morning. I suppose some people may struggle with getting them 9-5 monday to friday. Some simple additons might have helped such as an online order form to post in a cheque, Paypal offering people an opportunity to pay online via credit card. The same could be done for merchandise.
When i got mine sales were overall poor (IMO), however out of the ones sold Rob mentioned less than 20% were from existing customers...which is encouraging.
I think they are going to be £120, still they will be up on last years sales no doubt however most will buy immediately pre season i reckon.
Still the payments have been staged making it more manageable. £60 out in different months makes the paypacket hit less harsh.
People need to take a punt and but one! There's only a few days left. How about writing to the club with a cheque if you can't get through? Sure they take that!

| The truth is the club don't seem to do things as professionally as they arguably could, but having said that how many staff work there? You could probably count them on one hand. You see other clubs doing all sorts of promotions, but how many admin staff etc do they employ. The Cougars have obviously allocated the majority of the budget on the playing staff which I understand, but it probably does mean promotions may take a back seat. When trying to entice new supporters it's a balancing act so I try not to be too critical.
I would love to see new merchandise, the shop in the town centre and a new website as promised, but maybe it's a time and money conundrum.
In relation to season ticket sales, maybe the error was saying they would keep people up to date. If they publish figures and they were low it would undoubtedly put those "on the fence" off from buying one so I can understand why they are not putting the figures out in the public arena. Although, if they were close to any of those magic numbers maybe on the flip side this could also get people down to try and make that number. A tough one really.

| What the club should have done was advertise them at 100 pounds with the possibility of them being reduced to 80 or 60 pounds if they sell a set amount. That way its still a great offer and the chance to get cash back if the club reach the set amounts
Just a thought (after the horse has bolted)

You've obviously got access to the net so why not try www.keighleynews.co.uk. I'm sure the result will also be posted on here as a discussion thread.
