I think the "spice boys" used to have it off to a tee - replace all the swear words with innocent ones and the song becomes even funnier.
The amount of away fans that used to come to our ground and end up laughing at the singing - it's completely disarming and you end up with a good atmosphere.
It's a shame that they can't do what all good bands do and have a "spice boys" reunion at the final.  |

| So, let's get this right, you only complain about the language when it's visiting fans who use it, right????
I suppose all the young kids don't mind the f*****g dynamite bit when it's Keighley that sing it as that is what the Town fans and players were singing!!!!!!

Geekay, if you came to Cougar Park on a regular basis, you wouldn't hear ANY chants with swearing in. Maybe the odd individual swears in the heat of the moment -(you know who you are, be very ashamed), -but we aren't football fans, we can behave around women and kids!
Don't take everything you read to heart.

Well, we don't. However, the club has now for a long time worked hard to provide a family atmosphere.
I wasn't particularly bothered by the foul language and maybe I'm one of the bad guys who would like to go back to the traditionalist flat caps days and drop the "Cougars" name and so on. I did get the impression that you brought some idiotic hangers on due to the big occasion though.
I do however understand why people with young children were offended when blatant expletives were used when they were stood right next to them when this has not been the norm down at our ground since before I was born.
The chants weren't even funny. For example, that chant, "so and so's" a w@nker, he wears a w@nker's hat........ looks a f***ing tw*t" was just an embarrassing, crap all round chant sung by self idolising idiots.
I generally just think you brought a set of idiots down who had a higher opinion of themselves than we did. I don't know if they also feel the need to smash up the burger stands and throw beer on eachother in the concourse to add to them desperately trying to copy Man United's away support with their "We'll do what we want" chant.
If there were chants including the odd milder swear word that got right behind your team and that's all that was sung, I don't think many people, if anyone would have felt the need to complain.
My general point is that rugby league is a completely different environment to football these days. Your hangers on should follow Carlisle United on a Saturday or something if they prefer that type of day out. I don't mind that sort of day out myself when going to the football, but I know that it is now frowned upon when following rugby league down at Keighley.
