Makes you think what the reasoning behind the reserves is ....reckon our average age of todays side was 19/20 ,with prob 3 or 4 at 17 /18 all boys that could potentially play first team but need to pick up some experience at open age
Haven on the other hand appeared to have a team that was composed of oldish seasoned 'big guys' ..one wonders if those lads have ever got a chance of making the first team or are just picking up easy money in the second team...
Put a fully developed 25 + year old against a 17 year old ...no contest regardless of how good the 17 year old is (unless you are a freak like Sam Burgess)....
The Cougars are doing it the way that the reserves league should be run ..and there are some good local lads coming through the system who will follow Gav, Buster and Ollie into the first team..
Forget the result we are doing it right.......'"
The only 2 who were oldish, were the 2 starting props, Jackson who seems not to be part of out esteemed first team coaches plans and Farrer who played this game has he as done all season on One Leg just about. I think out team, did have more experience, but that team is still missing about 7-8 players from the start of the season. We played most of game with 2 subs, one lad was helping out from a local amateur team, and i think the other was injured.
