Having stopped watching the Cougrrrs at home for quite some time now and having gone through that initial withdrawal period, I wondered what you think you may miss the most should the Cougrrrs go under?

I know my situation was self imposed - but what if you didn't have the choice? A sad thought for you I'm sure - but what if?

[*]The friendships and banter with both fellow Cougrrr fans and visitors I missed the most and still do - although some still keep in touch.
[*]Getting to know the players - something that can only be obtained at a 'smallish' club... always nice regardless of their level.
[*]Believing that I made a/the difference as a fan..
[*]Obviously the game of rugby league and that this is my home town team playing
[*]Celebrating wins and debating losses.
[*]Delighting in witnessing a rugby 'star in the making' - following their career, regardless of which club they then go on to play for.
[*]Sunday afternoons - Home or away - sacrosanct.


and there is so much more.... .... ... ..

That nervous feeling before big games.

Winning derby games.

Invading the pitch after a monster cup upset.

Telling the ref to gerrum onside even though you're 95 yards away.

Giving linesmen stick when they're under the posts for giving a try off a pass that Brett Favre would have been proud of.

Abusing the goal-line touch judge that looks about 12.

Singing songs about Wayne Kerr.

And that cheer at full-time when you hear that the B*lls have lost again.

I know I dont go down every Sunday now but for a start off I think Keighley as a whole never mind individuals would miss the Cougars, it is and has been for many years what Keighley is best known for. I would miss coming on here and having a good chat and debate with fellow supporters. I would miss the fact that when I come back up to Keighley, I wouldn't be down at Cougars watching a game. The main thing I would miss, would just be knowing theyre not there, no games on a Sunday, no Rach and everyone else behind the bar, seeing Keighley supporters inevitably go to SL clubs. If I ever drove down Royd Ings and saw a superstore or houses on Cougar Park I would be very upset, as theres alot of memories there, both good and bad. Alot of Sundays, through out the years watching both successful and not so successful sides. Going through the scholarship and getting to sign for the club when I was 18. I really would miss the Cougars alot.

Giving the father in law a man hug when johnny p has side stepped through 6 players and got a length of the fielder at the jewson stand end, oh and the unique smell of someones beer farts, oh happy Sundays!

This last piece of .............................(fill in with your own words) is the final straw as far as I am concerned.

The answers to my post regarding why the cougars should exist were both enlightening and prove that they will continue in some form.

To those who answered thank you.

My "involvement" with the next variation of a Keighley RLFC club will be via radio, the local paper and league express together with the matches on the box.

And, if there was no mention, then I wouldn't be bothered.

I doubt if I will contribute any more to this forum (stop cheering at the back) but I will look at the threads as long as they exist but if they were not here, again I would not miss them.

At least I have my memories of the "good times".

Just going past an unused ground or seeing the houses there would make me feel crap to be honest. I'd just miss the club being there all together.

It bodes the question, where would we be if all the Cougarmania fans had stayed?

The thing is, after this has been resolved there needs to be a good explanation to the fans, because I think we've been spun a bit of a yarn to say the least.

And I also will be looking closely at the make of the new board with interest.

I agree A J its time someone at the club at the highest level came out with the full facts, not a potted version no matter how uncomfortable the truth is.

I have no doubt somewhere along the lines the fans will cop some of the flak.

For you to say that, you must have a idea of we might get blamed for.
