Keighley Cougars have joined British sport’s upper crust by signing an exclusive deal with the RFL’s Official Pie supplier Peter’s Pies to supply their fans with products throughout the 2009 season.
Peter’s Pies supply products to a host of top cricket, soccer and rugby union clubs in England and Wales as well as Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.
So Cougars will be joining an elite band of top sporting outlets including Sheffield United and Charlton Athletic in soccer; Cardiff Blues and Newcastle Falcons in rugby union and Kent in cricket’s CountyChampionship whose fans can enjoy Peter’s Pies on match days.
Cougars have selected three flavours from the Peter’s Pies menu and will be supplying: Potato and Meat; Steak and Chicken and Mushroom to their fans.
Helen Carter, the Cougars’ General Manager, said: “We believe that fans like eating pies while enjoying their Rugby League and that by supplying top quality products we will be enhancing their match day experience at Cougar Park.
“We plan to have vendors walking round the ground with heated bags containing the pies so that fans can buy them without missing any of the match action”.
Besides being an official RFL partner, Peter’s Pies are official suppliers to the engage Super League.
James Osgood, Peter’s Marketing Director commented “We are thrilled to be supplying Keighley Cougars with Super League Pies and look forward to a long relationship with both club and fans. We’ve supplied Stadiums such as Cardiff City and the Millennium Stadium for many years and continue to grow our customer numbers based on the best service and best tasting pies.”
What is goin wrong with todays society........ since when has a good old yorkshire meat n tattie pie been known as a potato and meat pie. i have to suffer enough of this when i go to watch burnley and the catering staff look at me oddly when i order a " Meat and potato pie"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
