I don't think it can be as simplistic as you can only play for the country that you are born in.

I don't think it is that simple because of the seemingly shrinking world where fewer people are born, grow up and remain in the same country their whole lives.
For me, the key is having the passion to represent their country. Their home country might be where they live or where they were born or where some of their family is from. That is the principle I believe in... the rules needed to apply that fairly may be more difficult. Deciding somebody else's passion is very subjective.

That said, no player (no matter what their opinion or background) should be allowed to get away with maliciously trying to injure another player (no matter what their opinions or backgrounds are).

Take someone like my Dad for example, has lived all but 6 months of his life in England educated in England, has an English accent, yet was born in Newport, 20 miles inside Wales. Are you saying he would only be eligible for Wales if he was 20 years younger and a decent player?

the comments are of the same context i stated issac luke said it was directed at that player, where as the other comment clearly states if it was a full team of english players it wouldnt have happened. rangi chase is not english. hense if he hadnt of been playing issac luke wouldnt have done what he did (one of the comments proven) the team would have been a full set of english players and issac luke would not have been going after rangi coz he wouldnt have been on the pitch (the comments go hand in hand)

incorret my point is aimed directly at players such as rangi chase who has represented nz at international level witht he maori and players such as danny brough who has played for scotland. if international rugby is about passion and heart for the country then surely these type of players have neither, highlighted by the fact that they havedumped there initial choice who im sure they will have quoted at some point was a real honour and privilege to be picked.
