| It was brilliant to see Rewilding turn SYT over today, mainly because I had a few quid ew on Rewilding, but also for the way O'Brien uses his pacemakers. He's wasting a good horse in Jan Vermeer, once a derby favourite, and very good horse yet O'Brien's decided to use him as a pacemaker. Sooner he loses his obsession with the pacemaker the better.
Why the fook would you send a horse to race in a G1 contest when it isn't 100%, that shows a massive error and also a massive disrespect to the rest of the field so get the fook in Frankie!!

| Not for me. To back two horses and watch the pair of them get mown down just before the line is absolutely gutting.

Seconded.
Was tempted to play Cape Dollar in the last on the reasoning that Stoute has very fun runners, and when he sends them they normally do well like mentioned a few time son this thread. Decided against it so no doubt it's going to hack up now.

Hopefully.
I've had a good day regardless, two winners and a second. Got two in the last, Dollar being one of them, so hopefully it'll go in.

| Put the winner of the 1735 up on here as my selection but didn't back the bugger. Won at 8s.
I could cry now.

| Thursdays picks (1/6 Wednesday)
Crown Dependency
Banimpire
Holberg
Tropical Beat
Tazahum

Hopefully O'Brien will go back home to Ireland without another winner, and in future send all horses over in peak fitness for the race.

| Went up to Ascot yesterday - great day, though rather spoilt by no winners
A few observations - Peslier put up 2lbs over on Goldikova, and got beat a short-looking length. The accepted weight to distance equivalent for a mile race is 2lbs = 1 length... Having said that, Canford Cliffs was impressive, and I'd take it to beat Frankel should they both line up in the Sussex.
As for today, Dettori gets a nine day ban for thrashing the living out of Rewilding in winning by a neck. Not sure that this makes the result acceptable, myself.

Was looking for abit of value in the race with Shumoos being a short but worthy fav I think I have found it in the Hannon runner, she's won two races already before her second birthday, last seen winning at odds of 1/4 as expected she won on the bit bar a slight nudge, the horse she beat that day was Dijarvo who has since won a Listed race over in France, she would need to improve again but see why she couldn't place or chase home the fav here.'"
Short head the other way and it would of been spot on
Winner is a winner though.

| Rain continues to come down and the forecast for the next 2 days is not too good. Only remaining part of a poor patent is Holberg @ 10s, though the ground looks to be going against him and in favour of my saver Manighar @14s. Fallon seemed quite confident about him earlier.
Nothing else of interest atm for the rest of the meeting, though if the ground is genuinely soft come saturday, then Cavalryman becomes interesting for the Hardwicke.

| Quote: Live Wired "don't you just love these hype-horses? Nice profit on the race, could have been more if I took Planteur on...But the horse has been on the go for months, he needs a rest, and yet o' Brien is thinking about the Eclipse. MADNESS. Regarding the winner, personally, I'd aim him straight at the Arc, he will take months to recover, and alongside St Nicholas Abbey, is lay material in KG back at Ascot.
Regarding Frankel, he's being aimed at the International at York. NO,NO,NO, he does not settle well enough, even more lay material...'"
You seem to like going after the well backed horses, its an interesting system but very risky against top class horses
Well played today though I wouldn't be backing So You Think at the odds thats why it went in a treble.
Going off your stakes yesterday though against Canford and Goldi an today there wouldn't be much difference between back or laying the selections

| Quote: Live Wired "Plenty of trainers do just that, especially o'Brien, don't forget Coolmore are all about breeding, it would have been 1 hell of a stud fee for SYT if he had won. Regarding "hype", take Frankel; Since Mister Baileys in 93, 10 horses have clocked faster times than Frankel in the Guineas, in the St James's Palace Stakes, 7 have clocked faster times than Frankel since Grand Lodge in 94, most of which will be run on good, fast ground, and yet, Frankel has been hyped up as the next Pegasus.
Imo, this year's 3yos are a poor bunch, with Frankel the best of the lot.'"
You think Frankel is overhyped because of his times?
Have a look at how quick he covers 3-4f nothing can live with it.
