Pricey though. There are sellers on Ebay doing them for £30.00. What size do people go for? I have a small mens at the min, but a xl youth fits just as well.

| Overtime changes have been approved by the teams.
From next season if a team winning the toss gets a TD the game is still over but if they only get a FG the other team gets the ball,If that team also only gets a fg then it's back to sudden death with the 1st team getting the ball.
It passed 28-4 with the Bills,Bengals,Vikings and Ravens against it.

Isn't it only in the play-offs though??
Even if it is it's a good idea.

| It's a shocking idea, and I'm with Rod Woodson on Total Access.
Why do you need to change the importance of one type of score over another? If a field goal is good enough to win a game in the last second of regulation, why isn't it good enough in OT?
If you've not been good enough to win a game in 60 minutes regulation, you lose the toss in OT and your defence isn't good enough to stop the opposition getting into field goal range why should you deserve another chance at keeping the game going?

It depends what you want really. I know it's a bit more than other sites but they are reliable ( not saying others aren't ).

=#8000FFSo just because the Pats/Colts/Saints win the toss in overtime it's fair they win as soon as they get into FG range? with them offences, that could be just a couple of plays, other then maybe a full strength Jets D, nobody would realistically stop those 3 teams under the old/regular season rules.
The good bit about the rule though is if the team that receives the kick off gets picked off at any time in the drive, a FG wins it.

If you're going down that line, why would it be fair for the Bears to win the toss and have Devin Hester take the OT kickoff to the house and end the game? Surely the other side's offence should get at least one possession otherwise apparently it's "not fair".

| They should have just brought in the college rules. Seems a bit inconsistent, even gimmicky, having the rule for FG's only and not TD's.

I didn't realise those 3 teams scored on every single drive? If you win the toss and get the ball into FG range then kick it is fair you win. If your in a playoff game and lose the toss you will win if you are good enough. As the old saying goes "Defence wins Championships" if you ain't good enough to stop a team in overtime then you ain't good enough to win. Very poor rule change in my opinion.

| I can see both ends of the argument but I think it promotes positive play. Rushing/passing is far more exciting to see then watching someone take a FG.

It promotes hazardous play with a lack of ball security from the offence and safe play from the defence. What it is basically saying is to end a game you need a TD. That means the Offence have got to get it another 35 yards which, if they haven't been able to win in regulation, you can assume would be difficult and result in ridiculous plays, which isn't entertaining. Whereas the defence can just go into nickel/prevent defence and camp on the goal line, keeping them to just a FG knowing that they can still win the game.
It's a ridiculous idea, in any incarnation. The team to score any point first in OT should win, even more so in the play-offs. Take us versus Arizona. We came back from 21 down to tie and get it to OT. Instead of the TD they scored we take it down field and kick a FG. It would be ridiculous for us then to have to give Arizona the ball for them to score when we would have deservedly won. It's just a ridiculous idea.

I must have missed when, with the Championship on the line, Peyton and the magical Colts, marched down field and scored at will?

Team gets the ball on the opposition's 20 yard line, you get 4 downs to get the 10 or score. If you get a FG and the other team gets a TD, they win. Both get same number of points, you go again until someone loses.
Lost to Leeds in double overtime cause of this. x_x

=#8040FFWhat's the standards like in the BAFL/BUAFL? because I'm looking to play, but probably looking at next season for both (being persuaded in going to uni at the minute a couple of years late) and knowing the level before starting would be a good idea
had a look at Yorkshire Rams roster and the left tackle is 6'10 and over 300lbs

| BUAFL is on average aboout a division 3 US college league, most teams are nothing special with a couple very talented players. Then again places like Birmingham, Loughborough, Newcastle and to a lesser extent Glasgow & Solent are developing into powerhouse teams. My uni has produced the best British player ever at least.
No idea about BAFL standard, just that a couple of our best players and 2 coaches play for the Staffordshire Surge as well, but BAFL is in a real mess atm.
