| Quote: Newton-Le-willows-Warrior "are we going to have a cheltenham tipping comp this year? Would be good to see how everyone would do over the 4 days.
I've had a lucky 31 for the first day containing.
Colour Squadron- if he didnt fall last time out he would have beaten Montbazon, he is a strong traveller and has been either 1st or 2nd in all other races. A huge each way punt at 16/1 and could win.
Sprinter Sacre- I've gone with Nicky Hendersons instinct here. He has bigged this horse up like there is no tomorrow and I think rightfully so. The hill will be a test for him again but he looks to have improved ten fold. Al Ferof looks like he needs a bit longer than the 2m and I think he will definately step up in trip after this and possibly be aimed at the Ryanair next year. Hes clearly got staying potential and he may go up to 3m like his half brother Grand Crus.
Hurricane Fly- Can anyone stop the Hurricane? I was hugely impressed with him in his seasonal reappearance. The only horse who I feel could get close to him is Binocular if he runs up to form. However, I don't think anyone will stop the fly.
Garde Champetre- The cross country is a very interesting race on paper with Sizing Australia, Scotsirish and Garde Champetre horses who I took into consideration. I like to look at the cheltenham form of horses and Garde Champetre ran over C&D last time and won, beating Scotsirish in the process and was only just over a length behind Sizing Australia last year, with a swing in the weights I think this horse stands a great chance and should be again an each way bet with 9/1 available at some bookmakers.
Quevega- in the mares hurdle I have to go with quevega. Definate deserved favouritism. An interesting bet in this race though is Swincombe Flame, never gives anything short of 100 percent. Can't see her having enough class to beat Quevega though.
So I am predicting day 1 to be a good day for the Irish with Quevega,Garde Champetre,Hurricane Fly all being owned by irish trainers.'"
I'm happy to run and keep scores for Tipping Comp if everyone wants.
One horse per race? Tips in at least 30 mins before the first race each day.
5pts for 1st. 2 for 2nd. 1 for 3rd?

| And to try and reward persons not backing the favourites, maybe an extra point or two if the horse backed is over 5/1?
Thoughts guys?

| William Hill have Zarkandar at 8/1 for the Champion Hurdle this morning.
I was told 7/1 from sources yesterday but 8/1 is very brave from WH. Doubting anyone else will dare to match that.

| first the fly offer, now this on zarkandar - wonder if they've heard something from hendo and JP to indicate binocular is tearing up the gallops at home.

Wouldn't trust Nicky Henderson as far as I could throw him. Doubt Hills would make such drastic price changes based on hearsay, but then there must be some logic behind their decisions.

| depends on binoculars price on the day, a drift will probably mean JP has got the gold down before hedging it.
purely me being sceptical of course.
rock on ruby has just as much chance as zarkandar IMO, fehily a better jock than jacob and the stiff finish is right up RoR's street as he was just touched off last year in the neptune by the very strongly finishing first leiutenant.
oscar's well could also lay it down to zarkandar.
the logic behind those two offers surely is that a peak binocular could rattle the fly, and that unless zark sprouts wings has a job on for third. people will see it as 8/1 nice profit if he finishes third, but not quite that simple IMO.

what about ten quid per person per race or 5er e/w? i know the points way would be easier, but that way would maybe give a truer refelection?
i dont mind, either way i'll have a stab.

| Zarkandar has a lot to find on official ratings, could well improve significantly but perhaps going out to beat the big guns could see him beaten into a place.
Had a dream last night that Hurricane Fly fell at the last when cruising and Quevega was beaten on the bob, woke up in a cold sweat!

I like the sound of that way - Odds will be the ones showed by Racing Post on their Results page.
Maximum of 2 Horses per race. All Selections by 1pm each day of racing. (i.e No picking or editing when you see a horse in the ring etc).
