| There were two problems with the first race:
1. Bahrain is not really the season opening type of venue that Melbourne is (that's a compliment my antipodean friends ).
2. The Bahrain track had been changed to much when it wasn't necessary.
Still keeping the faith, as Melbourne is a great track and dull races at Albert Park are very few and far between.

| Good win for Button and the rain spiced it up a little
Loving Hamilton's reaction during and after the race
Another race which pointed towards the problems the new rules have produced, Hamilton pitted to make the car faster but lost because it's too hard to overtake on worn tyres, most of the cars could have finished the race quicker by making a second pit stop but knew that they could keep faster cars behind them

| I find it strange that a car could be so unsafe when those wheels that went flying into the viewing area could have killed anyone they hit - in many circuits this could have been horrific - it has been an area that has been supposedly rectified by tethers on the wheels but clearly no energy was taken out of those tyres as they went careering into the crowd at nearly 200mph! A serious reprimand should follow imo

| Almost like Australia was today's race, changable conditions, overtaking galore, a couple of heavy shunts and Jenson winning after a bold, but ultimately successful early call. Despite a couple of lairy moments, well done Lewis for a sound second place too.
Nico Rosberg - his first win will come this year, mark my words and he only made one mistake today and within a lap of committing the error, Button was past and virtually ended his race.
Alonso - the most blatant jump start seen for a long time and by rights should have been given a stop-go rather than a drive through. If he was a swimmer it would have been a case of "get out of the pool Fernando, you naughty boy, you're not racing."
Mark Webber, re: whinge at Lewis on second safety car:- BOO HOO! After you're crass behavious in Australia pal, surely you should have expected some kind of vengence and if you can't take it, don't dish it out.
Still to McLaren's proud British drivers:
JENSON AND LEWIS, US BRITS SALUTE YOU!

| Its a real testement to the constructors that Webber managed to walk away from that monster shunt. That incident reminded me of the Gerhard Berger Ricardo Patrese accident in the 1992 Portuguese GP at Estoril when Patrese came off worse from Berger's delayed entry into the pit-lane. Just like today's scary shunt, both drivers walked away from that one unscathed and thank goodness Webber is alright.
As for Alonso and the Ferraris once again ganging up on another team for a misdemeanor, well that's only typical behaviour from Senor Mardyass and his whinging cronies.
Come to Silverstone in two weeks time little boy Fernando, a place where none of those manors are tolerated and where you'll find more sporting spectators.

I can't believe how long Alonso was ranting about what was effectively a minor infringement. If I was Ferrari management, I'd be having a serious word with him about focusing on his driving in future. He might have been better than 8th if he hadn't spent so much time fuming inside his helmet.

Or playing with it!! Just shows what that guy is, especially when still whinging after finding out Hamilton had served the penalty given to him and was still in 2nd. To be honest Hamilton got caught in 2 minds whether to go or stay, yet Alonso could have gone into the pits before after Hamilton missed the first opportunity and would have been able to jump into 2nd.

| Alonso is insane, but that is what makes him great. I can understand to an extent his issue with the time the decision took but for what was essentially the safety car crossing the white line by inches before Hamilton did, which upon reflection cost Lewis the chance and probably the race victory i think he's gone overboard. Probably alot of it is frustration with himself and the team.
As for the Webber incident, firstly it is testament to the cars that he is alive after that. Secondly i disagree with almost all of what DC was saying about whos fault it was. I think it was entirely Webber's own fault. Heikki has track position and they were racing, surely he has no obligation to move out of his way. Webber knows he is significantly faster and Heikki had left him enough room around the outside (and possibly could have gone up the inside) and made no sudden movements. For me Webber arrogantly thought he could just keep going and Heikki would move.
