I had quite mixed feelings. Obviously pleased with the result, enjoyed the match, good atmosphere (that toddler they kept showing on the big screens, chomping on his foot long hot dog and then guzzling from his litre bottle of pop was worth the entrance money alone!).

The downside for me was that the result (and particularly SWP's performance) will probably increase Mark Hughes' belief that we can be succesful playing 4-4-2 (which in reality is closer to 4-2-4). Most of this season we've started with two from De Jong, Barry & Ireland when we really should be shaping the team round all three. We just keep playing one too many attacking players considering our defensive frailties. This one result shouldnt be seen as a justification to persist with that policy.

At least Hughes has learned one lesson from the Fulham, Burnley & Hull matches and used his substitutes more intelligently, bringing on Kompany to shore up the midfield.

It's Partizan that have said we won't cough up, it doesn't really surprise me, the money from the summer has long disappeared to eat at the interest payments for the year, and this £9m fee is too precious for Glazer to spend on a player.

I'd like to think "we're happy with what we've got" is a kind way of letting Llajic down and it actually means we've agreed a deal with David Silva. I won't be holding my breath though.

We invite Llajic over for numerous training sessions, interview him on how excited he is to be a United player.

In September, Fergie describes him as the star of the Serbia U21s, and comments on how well he has trained / playing for Partizan. We then apply for his work permit, then less than 30 days before he is meant to arrive in Manchester for good, we pull the plug on the deal, but more embarrassingly, we don't tell his agent or him. (His agent was earlier claiming that he didn't know anything)

Then when the whole world is rumouring about the state of the club and Partizan saying it's financial, we release a statement online saying "he aint good enough, we aren't signing him" despite claiming last January that he was a Manchester United player out on loan.

I hope this is either a $hite way of getting Partizan to agree to a lower fee, or we have a deal sorted to bring in David Silva. Either way, I can't help feeling sorry for the lad missing out on his dream move, not only that, but if true, we have missed out on a top, top player. Someone else will snap him up quickly, I just hope it aint another PL club, because that will come back to cost us.

Well Tosic does not look like a Utd player to me, only young but I don't see anything in him. Reports suggested Ljajic was something special though so that would be disappointing if he does not come. Maybe we have done other deals for someone like Villa or Silva and a keeper or maybe the money isn't there and Fergie has no chance of signing anyone?

Top player, like. Some fella on one of the Liverpool forums has been banging on about him back when he played for Teplice, nobody had a clue who he was but he's turned out to be a cracker. Tosic is one of the best crossers at the club. He is performing very highly IMO for the Reserves, he just hasn't been given much of a chance in the First XI. He's got decent pace, skill, and ability, he's just a bit small.

If we don't have money now, we never will, we're 3 in a row PL Champions, CL winner and runner up in the past 2 years, decent cup runs over the past three years. It's gunna be near on impossible to repeat that over the next few years.

Stupidly gifted. He could do that with his eyes closed; however, skill, ability and pedigree aren't Zlatan's problems, it's his usual disappearing act in the champions league is what always raises doubts. He's probably the most gifted striker in world football, he has everything in abundance bar express pace and desire to perform on the big stage.
