Big game for the Hawks tonight against the so far winless Wings, hope the Hawks can inflict a little more misery on the Wings in Hockeytown for their home opener. Be good to be 5pts in front of the Wings this early in the season.

Think this season will be an interesting one. In the Eastern Philly for sure will go well but still think they'll choke towards the play offs. Still think the Bruins will come on strong and will have learnt from their exit last season, the Habs also look to be a threat.

As for the Western hopefully as a Hawks fan we will yet again move forward and build on another improved season. Flames will agin prove a strong contender along with the Wings who you can never discount. Think there may be some big suprises this season in both conferences.

It's looking like it's going to be a loooooooong season

Hawks make history with one of the biggest come back wins in NHL history against the Flames.

5-0 down halfway through the 1st period the Hawks rallied to take the game to overtime, then score the game winner 26 seconds in to OT.

Wouldn't fancy being a Flames player after that

As I have a soft spot for the blackhawks I'm looking forward to seeing the highlights on NHL on the fly later. However, I'll have to leave the room when it gets to the leafs LOWlights from another terrible performance.

Even though I'm a Hawks fan the Leafs are a team I follow with interest. I think its going to be a very very very long season for the Leafs. You only have to look at their roster to see how weak it is, with no real stand out players and with only Toskala & Gustavsson in between the pipes goaltending isn't great either.

For me the Leafs no longer have a core of players who gave their all for the team like Tucker, Corson, Roberts, Domi etc even McCabe and each season they have fallen further behind as each player left, plus they haven't recovered from Sundin going or replaced him.

Ron Wilson needs to do some big rebuilding and try to trade but apart from Kaberle, Stajan & Kessel the rest of the roster is very poor.

The Predators are really struggling at the minute with only 13 shots on Huet??? This could also be down team defence & how the Hawks are playing as they currently lead the league with an average of just over 20 shots per game.

Huets uncertain start to the season as the Hawks No.1 continues as he struggles in the Hawks 4-3 defeat in Dallas.

Will Quenneville look to make a move and possibly put Huet on waivers if they think another team would take him? Right now I seriously doubt any team would look at Huet who has been simply awful so far.

Think its time for Niemi to make a name for himself and give Crawford and good go while sorting Huet out. I admit Huet aint the greatest but he is a damn sight better than he has been playing so far this season.
