Seriously, you should get Rafa into the reception of Goodison Park and aimlessly wander the corridors wearing slippers and with a Greggs sausage roll in his hand shouting "I've lost he plot and I'm truly sorry for stealing from you good people".

| Good result for Liverpool today, but by golly they are terrible. I've not paid much attention to their games, as it's been the same story as every season.
They finish the season really strongly, winning a string of games. They then go into the next season telling everyone how it's their year and how they are going to win the Premier League. They are then always 10-15 points behind the big clubs by Christmas. Same old, same old.
Everton are in a horrendous run of form, devoid of their best players in Arteta and Jagielka. Despite that they dominated Liverpool today. I had a red with me trying to make out they were 'in control' but being in control doesn't normally include being pinned back in your own half and the opposition having about 12 clear cut chances and 2 goals disallowed.
In 90 minutes Liverpool only created one chance, the header by Insua. Both the goals they scored were pure luck.
Any other team than Everton today and Liverpool would have been beaten convincingly. They are defensively terrible. Everton were dangerous throughout and did nothing bar pump aimless balls up to the worst target man ever in Jo. Their defending of set pieces is also absolutely dreadful and would surely have been exposed had Baines managed to beat the first man more.
Once Everton get a few back they will be fine and recover to mid table but Liverpool are no closer to winning the Premier League than they have ever been. They won't win anything with that squad.

| [iLiverpool claimed a smash and grab Merseyside derby victory to claim fifth place in the Premier League on a day of raw tension at Goodison Park.
But they will have sighed with relief after being pounded for almost all of this very local showdown, but somehow emerged with the points.
Everton were the dominant force, but could not turn their pressure into goals, with Liverpool now having lost just two of their last 20 league games against the old enemy.[/i - Sporting Life

I would agree with that we were terrible but at least we turned it into a win rather than the usual draw/loss when we play like that!

| I'm sorry, but that second half Everton done nothing. One/two chances from the one set piece where Reina excellently saved, other than that, I barely remember seeing anything from their strikers or midfielders. Of course, the bluenoses and Sky Sports will claim they were the dogs nads and they hammered us for 90 minutes, let's be serious, for large parts of the second half, we were under no pressure. The 10 minutes building up to the second we were struggling a little, but the second goal and then after was like the majority of the second half, comfortable.
The first half we were woeful, we were well off the pace and Everton really should have bagged a couple, but the second half was really a different story. I sat there laughing through the majority of the commentary as they were clinging on to Everton's first half performance as justification of them dominating the whole match.
We're in possibly the worst run of form under Benitez yet we walk away with a clean sheet and two goals scored. Let that tell you everything about the set piece side that is Everton

| Deceptively good goal there by Chelsea. Inch perfect pass by Cashley Tweedy and a good finish by Dropba.
And as I'm typing this, an own goal by Arsenal. They've not been bad in the middle of the pitch but they're showing the gulf between the two teams today as Chelsea are always that much more dangerous in the box.

Everton dominated almost the whole game. On another day they could have scored 5 or 6.
We always had a weak squad and everyone knew we'd struggle this year. But Liverpool are so far behind the teams they are supposed to be challenging it's funny.

Because, IMO, Chelsea allow them to have the middle of the pitch because they can pass all day but when it comes to around the Chelsea box they struggle to do anything.
Typical, typical Arsenal. The true test of a side is when they are faced with strong teams. Arsenal simply don't have quality against the best team, they are just good when faced with poor sides.

They can't even say they didn't spend any money. How much was Aguilani? An injured player unproven in the PL?

| Cole was utterly dire in the opening stages. Couldn't do a thing right. Then he puts in the two crosses for the goals.
I love Mikel. He's got massive potential. But his languid style has been almost comatose today. Wouldn't be surprised to see him taken off at HT.
Still, Arsenal have a bright future, don't they?

I dunno who you're on about mate. We signed Aquilani to a five year deal, little harsh writing him off after what, three/four months and he's not even played. I can't wait for him to get fully fit, he's light years ahead of Lucas.

Why did he spend so much on a crocked player? He's already too late to help Liverpool in the real European competition and the league title.
Completely different Arsenal. Very harsh disallowing that goal.

Probably because we got the crocked player at a much cheaper price because he was crocked. If he was fully fit, he'd have cost over £25m IMO. We'll still finish top 4 and a good run in the Europa could make up for the loss in the CL. We've had a poor season, woeful in fact, but we're only 3 points off fourth and we're still in a European competition, it could be so much worse. We always finish strong so I'm pretty confident we can turn things semi around, Aquilani's return will play a big role in that.

So you saved 5 million because he was crocked? How much will the exit from the Champions League cost the club? How much will finishing outside the top 4 cost you?
Liverpool will finish in the top 4 if only because no one else seems to want it.
