i was musing whether to put a cheeky tenner on him just for fun whilst putting me national bets on yesterday. balls.

Yeah, he beat him. All because he just ducked and weaved for 25 mins. BJ Penn landed far more clean shots, but its all about octagon control these days and Edgar was the agressor throughout. The thing is though, that was not the BJ Penn we know. He looked tame, no agression at all. Like he wanted to lose but Edgar could just stand there for 3 hours punching BJ Penn in the face and he wouldnt knock him out. BJ Penn made no takedown attempts at all while Edgar made plenty, even though Penn Blocked them all.

Etim lost as well. Same problem as Bisping. No punch power at all and when on top of his opponent on the floor, did nothing except rest his head on his chest. Loving punch the guy for ffs.

Lost all my respect for Anderson Silva last night too. Mocked Maia throughout the fight. Everytime Maia landed a punch, Silva pretended to be hurt even though he wasnt. Fair enough, put a show on for the fans but dont mock your opponent, who, whilst bloodied, had the heart of a lion and kept on comming back. I Hope a true legend in GSP tears him a new one, when Anderson drops down in weight to face him.

Silva was a joke the other night. Hopefully he'll never do that again.

Seems like Dana White agrees. Silva will never headline another UFC event he has said. Interesting to hear that Dana White left ringside during the 4th round and just gave the belt to Silva's manager as he didnt want to put it around Silva's waist after the fight.

saw it last night, jesus what a ing balloon, it was ridiculous the gulf in ability between him and Maia so why not go for a super kill finish or something.

On the other hand, i know what i said before but big props to Edgar, he got it spot on, and gave the type of performance you would have hope joe stevenson would have put in 2 years ago. I bet Diego sanchez watched that and felt really ing shown up.

Kimbo would have been better suited going to pro wrestling. He could have made a bucket load playing off the reputation he earned from his youtube street fighting.

Well he won't be used to them getting hit. Most of the other guys have done some form of martial arts since they where kids so the bones are solid and nerves have died.

Good to see hardy taking a six month sabbatical to work with the best wrestling coaches in the world.

The main event will probabaly be Bisping v Wanderlei rematch if wandys back from injury.

Havent seen the fight as strikeforce has been cancelled on Bravo!! (so iv been told anyway)

It should have been stopped.

I think the end result proved it shouldn't have been stopped.

Although Carwin landed a few whilst on top for the most part Lesnar covered up well and took the punches.

For me the ref was vindicated by the fact that Lesnar was ok to continue and even went on to win the fight.

nah, should have been stopped in the first round, from the first big uppercut he took to the chin lesnar was cowering and then just covered up on the ground taking shot after shot.

It had happened in a fight earlier that night and rogan and goldberg were demanding the ref stop it since he was just covering his head, exact same situation, not a peep out of them.


have to say as well, proper disapointed for akiyama, i was really looking forward to that and he blew himself out bizarrely in the first round. i don't like leben at all but some of the shots that he took were bombs and he just kept walking.

i was screaming at the television right near the end when akiyama was throwing his knackered punches from lebens guard, he'd throw a couple and then suck in for air leaving his arm out over leben's stomach, it was crying out for a sangaku.
