So many people have been naive about our predicament. Fans, even the chairman couldn't 'entertain' ideas of relegation and right out refused to comment on the sitution, depsite the non-naive fans realising that with the way Ashley is running the club, we were and still are down s*it creek without a paddle.

In some ways the fans are too loyal as with other clubs gates would have dropped and the pressure mounted on the board.

There is only 2 people that would get the reception which would get backsides on seats at St James Park. Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan.
They have already treated Keegan like crap, so they have turned to Shearer.
Probably part of the reason why they turned to Shearer was to try and increase their popularity which was in the gutter.

| Still don't think Newcastle will go down. Boro and Hull for me. I have thought that Stoke would go down from day 1 and it was only Saturdays win over Blackburn which made me think they will survive. Well done to them. Hull are in free fall and IMO will continue the slide. I thought Sunderland might get dragged into the mire but that was a big win on Sat over Hull.
We certainly go to the wire though.

I still think the more ''passionate'' element of newcastle fans carry some of the blame for the current scenario.
They've forced countless managers out and that lack of stability has contributed.

| Quote ="Robbie Rotten"I'm not usually the sympathetic type, but I don't want Newcastle to go down. They play some alright stuff, have a great ground, large fanbase and they are, or at least were, quite an ambitious side.
I want them to stay up, I know loads moan about their fans being deluded, but I dunno, it'd be crap if they went down and someone like Stoke stayed up.'"
Why? They don't exactly play sincilating football but neither do most of the teams in this division. Stoke City have more than earned their place in next season's Premier League. If Newcastle do get relegated, they'll deserve everything they get and more. Just as if they stay up, they will have earned it. It's a hoary old cliche but after 38 games, everyone gets what's coming to them.

| It's going to be bedlam on here if Everton win a trophy this season and Liverpool don't.
It was a penalty yesterday, of course it was, but these things do of course happen. I'm not naive enough to think that, because Berbatov doesn't run around like a maniac, he isn't trying, but I thought his penalty was rubbish. Of course they're all rubbish if they don't go in but still, he could have made a better effort with his ability.
One thing I was impressed by yesterday was how much it meant to Everton. (I appreciate this may sound patronising so I apologise in advance). They really wanted to win it and it was great to see these days when most teams don't really be that bothered. As noted above, if they do win it, no one can say they've done it the easy way.

To be honest, if you are refering to Allardyce, he has to be one of the most clueless and inept managers that we have had in charge, so i dont think he was forced out so to speak. Keegan left because he didn't get what he was promised and wasn't going to be a puppet for the board, which Kinnear is.

Maybe, but I'd wager that if Allardyce was still in charge, you wouldn't be 19th.
Would you be playing good football ? No. Might Steven Taylor be upfront ? Yes.

| Well done to Everton, Utd were the better side even with the players we had out and should have had a penalty however fair play to Everton, I hope they can go on and win it.
I have to ask though why Tevez and Wellbeck did not take pens? Once again Wellbeck looks okay in build up play but useless in front of goal, Anderson and Gibson played wel in the centre of midfield and the two central defenders were superb.

I very much doubt it. Hardly a new thing though is it? Fergie and Wenger are terrible losers. It's part of the reason why they win so much.

You best hope both as it's probably the only way Liverpool have a chance of winning the title!

We are in a massive hole, but i think we will win atleast 1 of the remaining games ( dunno who against tho )
Hopefully we will go into the next two games ( against Liverpool ( h ) and Villa ( a ) positive and play like we did at start of the season as there isnt any pressure on us anymore as everyone including most of the City fans think we are doomed and expect us to get thumped again

| Quote ="Nemanja"It wasn't a great game, IIRC 3/4 shots on target, but it was definitely a game where defences were on top. Vidic was an absolute rock, definitely my MOTM. I also thought Anderson played very well with Gibson in the middle. Scholes again looked a sad and sorry shadow of his former self.
Slightly negative, the large crowd means that the semi-finals won't be taken away from Wembley any time soon, which is a shame for a number of reasons:
1) It's too far for two NW sides to travel.
2) It takes away the magic of the final.
3) It's too expensive.
4) The pitch is possibly the worst in England, it cut up after 10 minutes of the Arsenal/Chelsea game and it was fooking awful for our game.
'"
Yep, Ferdinand and Vidic on your side were on top, and Jagielka and Lescott shut down the United attack, one for the purists that!
And regardless of the crowd, aren't the FA contracted to take the semis there for 30+ years? Shame, takes the shine off the final now, much less of an occasion.
