| I'd imagine it will be red button on Friday nights for those games that clash with the main 8pm game. They sometimes do it for Championship football games midweek so you go and pick which one you want to watch.

| I know people moan about these deal not bringing in the cash but the sport it’s pretty much non existent in this country. Showing a near on packed DW with, what’s expected to be a cracker of a game on TV free is surely going to excite people. Also the NRL will hopefully commit to future WCC off the back of good viewing figures as it opens up their market

| It's the non captive audience though that these kind of games (world club challenge) the likes of the BBC needed to be aiming at, RL fans in general will tune in to watch the game, it's the new and next generation of audiance that the BBC/RFL need to be aiming for.
If the BBC only show adverts for it during a RL related programme then they are preaching to the converted, they need to be advertising this kind of game at peak viewing times like before/after Eastenders or whatever other popular programmes are on the BBC, even try and get it into the script on Eastenders, there must be at least one RL fan amongst the cast and crew.

| Could be that our away game at Cas might be televised. Down as a Saturday 3pm kick off but that could easily be changed.

Now BBC to show live matches Saturday nights BBC2
cant get the link to work this is whats said
BBC Sport have beaten Channel 4 to secure live Super League games
* The coverage will complement that of main rights holder Sky Sports
* BBC are also set to extend their live rights deal for the Challenge Cup
The BBC have won the rights to broadcast Super League matches free-to-air for the next three years in a major boost for rugby league.
Mail Sport has learned that BBC Sport have seen off competition from Channel 4 to secure live Super League games for the first time in a deal that will see at least 12 matches-a-season shown live on BBC Two on Saturday evenings from next month.
The BBC’s coverage will complement that of Super League’s main rights holder Sky Sports, who will show all six games live each week for the first time when the competition resumes with the Hull derby on 15 February.
In addition, BBC Two will broadcast 12 live regular season matches, with more to be made available in BBC iPlayer, as well as two play-off games at the end of the season and the World Club Challenge between Wigan and NRL champions Penrith Panthers on 24 February.
The BBC are also set to extend their live rights deal for the Challenge Cup, which expires at the end of this year, until the end of the 2026 season.
[sizeSuper League and the BBC declined to comment.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I would say that the Cas game is likely to be on the red button/app or whatever as it only starts at 2.55 with a 3.00 KO. Whereas the Cats/Wire game previews at 17.30 with a 18.00 KO.

You would hope that at part of the contract there will have been a clause specifying the promotional exposure.
Given IMG will have been involved in these negotiations I’m more confident this will be the case.
I think this is great news for the game and should assist with bringing exposure to the game.

When you look at the sky advertising as a main broadcaster it is shocking, you are lucky if you see a snippet or RL action

i've posted something very similar on Warriors fans
the Saturday games should all be the same time, same channel, so at least the RL fans know when they are on plus chance to give maximum exposure to non-RL fans. Dont mess around with different day, time, channel as it will soon lose its appeal if we are messed about
Friday night Eastenders, a short promo advert before and / or after would be ideal. I know that people North of London watch Eastenders, so we wouldnt just be targetting Londoners, but it probably get 6-7 m tuning in per episode, so even if a small %age of those saw and watched RL, it must be a win win for the sport
MoTD, get Gary Lineker to promote the following weeks game and then any other sports shows, should be doing the same to include the RL game on Saturday afternoon

It’s odd isn’t it because they have pulled some cracking campaigns together in the not too distant past but since the ones featuring Mark Webber & Brad Wiggins they seem to have stopped putting the effort in.

RL is an afterthought, I appreciate SKY have a diverse range of sports but even netball gets more advertising space than we do and I can't recall seeing packed out sports hall's holding ten's of tousands of supporters, not sure where you get the viewing figures from either so can't say if it is a big TV viewing draw, but I would guess it is less than RL.
Didn't RL used to have the second highest viewing audience behind Fooseball at one point?
